Natalia is a Public Health major at Kennesaw State University with a concentration in Nursing. She is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse-midwife, committed to providing compassionate care to women across the lifespan including the unique needs of aging women.

Congrats to Delaney Lockwood, 2025 Virginia M. Smyth Scholarship winner!
Delaney is pursuing an MD/MPH at the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership. She is passionate about neurology, especially movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, and will be applying to residency this year.

We're proud to support Delaney’s journey to improve the lives of older adults through clinical excellence and research.

We're thrilled to honor Xavier Kim as the recipient of the 2025 Lois Ricci Scholarship for Older Adults! After a 30-year career in children’s education, Xavier has become a powerful advocate for aging populations. Through his leadership with local senior organizations and the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Advisory Committee on Aging, Xavier champions equity, dignity, and quality of life for all older adults.

🏆 In honor of 70 years of leadership in the field of aging, the Georgia Gerontology Society is proud to unveil a refreshed awards program that reflects the diversity, impact, and innovation happening across gerontology and aging services.
GGS is a network for everyone in the aging field, and our awards reflect that. We honor the outstanding contributions of educators, certified nursing assistants, social workers, physicians, senior center directors, elected officials, older adults, volunteers, elder law attorneys, and all those who champion aging.
Here’s what to know:
• Award criteria now include examples, not strict requirements to guide and inspire thoughtful nominations
• You must be a GGS member to nominate, but your nominee does not need to be a member
• Nominations close on May 23, 2025
