What is a sensory diet? It’s a set of activities to use throughout the day that helps the nervous system gain regulation through the senses.

Movement- daily and throughout the day is so incredibly important for your sensitive, sensory child!

We will be practicing some exercises this Friday that you can do solo, or with your child. By moving and engaging with your child, you will help

⭐️regulate their nervous system
⭐️get the brain and body balanced for learning
⭐️provide an outlet to release heaviness
⭐️harmonize the body and brain, which is a great state to build intuition

Our messaging at AboutPlay is consistent: along with your child’s services, parents are encouraged to get support and regulate their nervous system. And we don’t (necessarily) mean a spa day.

🌀Tap out with your partner or co-parent as you are able. Maybe one person does the dishes while the other has 1:1 time with the kids.

🌀Change the scenery: step outside and get fresh air, take a walk around the block.

🌀Get therapy for yourself. Talk therapy, EMDR, Hypnosis, inner child work, somatic practices, breathwork. Watch your child get regulated when you are regulated.

🌀 Engage in breathing, counting, or other regulating tasks in front of your child. They may opt in to co-regulate or even get the benefits from mirror neurons just by watching you.

Parents— it’s intense out there. Take small and simple steps daily to build your own inner sanctuary.
