Emory Mental Health Alliance - EMHA Emory Mental Health Alliance (EMHA) is a student organization at Rollins School of Public Health and Emory University.

The goals of EMHA are
(1) to provide information to Emory students about issues in mental health related to policy, global health, current events and other areas of student interest
(2) to provide career development in mental health through avenues such as educating students on mental health career paths, holding networking events and sustaining a database for job opportunities
(3) to develop and sustain community engagement in mental health by providing students with volunteer and service opportunities.

Good afternoon EMHA members,

Hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. EMHA is enthusiastic to share a variety of events for the upcoming National Public Health week.

On Monday April 5th | 12:30 - 2:30 PM, we will be hosting a panel discussion and Q&A session with the Georgia Chapter of the National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI) on topics related to Living with a Mental Health Condition. Please RSVP for this event.

On Tuesday April 6th | 5-7 PM, CAPS will be conducting a QPR: Su***de Prevention Training. Registration is necessary, and spots are limited. Please register here: https://bit.ly/3vVO3Q6.

On Friday April 9th | 7-9 PM, there will be a virtual documentary night discussing the movie the Dhamma Brothers. For this event, you are expected to watch the movie on your own and then attend the zoom session for a discussion.

We have attached the appropriate flyers for zoom ID, passwords, QR codes, and more. In addition, we have also attached an EMHA Event checklist so that you may keep track of which events you'd like to attend and all the necessary information associated with each event.

EMHA, in partnership with the Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory (IPRCE), the Association of Black Public Health Students, and the Health Organization for Latin America (HOLA), will be hosting a Morning Coffee Convo discussing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) mental health and mental health awareness. Joining us will be Dr. Dejuan White, the Medical Director of Grady's Psychiatric Emergency Services and a professor at Emory's School of Medicine. This event will be on September 1st from 9-9:30, streamed from IPRCE's page. If you have any questions for Dr. White, please send them to us!
