Transparency post. I’ve never had trouble sleeping. Anyone that know me know I use to get about 9 hours of sleep at night. Maybe with in the last 2 years it’s been extremely hard to stay asleep at night. Recently I’ve started implementing a nighttime routine, which consist of a warm shower, cleansing my face, brushing my teeth, reading my Bible for 20 minutes, warming a bad buddy (I.e heating pad) and drinking a 6 ounce cup of warm tea and laying down all before 8 o’clock. As a result, I have been feeling so much. As a Massage Therapist Using my Body it is vital that I prioritize rest and here’s why.

Without sleep:
• Grip strength declines
• Pain sensitivity increases
• Recovery slows
• Cortisol stays elevated
• Decision fatigue increases

With sleep:
• Muscle repair improves
• Micro-tears recover
• Brain clarity improves
• Emotional resilience increases

This is a friendly reminder that you cannot pour from an exhausted nervous system.

Arthritis doesn’t just affect joints.
It affects how you move… sleep… and show up every day.

While massage doesn’t cure arthritis, it can be a powerful support tool.

What massage can help with:

*Reduce stiffness around the joint
*Improve circulation to surrounding tissues
*Ease muscle tension that builds from compensating
*Improve range of motion
*Decrease stress (which can worsen pain perception)

When joints hurt, the muscles around them tighten to “protect” the area.
