🍁 Type 1 diabetes and elevation taught me a tough lesson a few years ago. Driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains on my insulin pump made my blood sugar drop dramatically—more than I expected from unintended insulin. This isn’t a malfunctioning pump—it can happen on planes too with the change in elevation. This year, we stuck to Greenville, S.C., where the elevation is closer to Atlanta. Because T1D doesn’t take a vacation. The leaves were spectacular! 🍁
