Women’s health is more than a moment—it’s a journey that impacts not just individuals, but entire families. 💙 For Dr. Evan, one of our university partner faculty members and research coordinators at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, and Marie, his wife, that journey included a life-threatening childbirth experience and the loss of their son, Joseph, who was born prematurely.
From pregnancy to postpartum and beyond, the experiences women face can be complex, life-changing, and at times, incredibly challenging. In recognition and in honor of what would have been Joseph’s 5th birthday, Evan set out to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on February 14, raising over $10,000 for Return to Zero: HOPE.
In preparation for this journey, Evan sought a referral for therapeutic exercise from PT Solutions to ensure he was physically ready for the climb, connecting him with one of our Jacksonville clinic managers, Abigayle Casey.
This story highlights the impact of expanding access to transformative care, supporting not just individuals, but the families and experiences behind every patient.
"We were proud to be able to support an incredible individual through a meaningful mission that honors the memory of his son, and provide a powerful, compassionate experience within our clinic walls." - Megan Burke, Senior Clinical Engagement Specialist
This Women’s History Month, we recognize the importance of women’s health and the role care, support, and advocacy play in every journey. We’re grateful to have been a small part of Evan’s journey and proud to support his mission to help families navigate pregnancy and infant loss with compassion and community.
