Georgia Senior Living Association

Georgia Senior Living Association GSLA promotes the quality of life of senior living through education, advocacy, and partnerships.

GSLA, the state affiliate of Argentum, is a non-profit trade association incorporated in 1998 representing Georgia's senior living industry and the growing population it serves. Members range from freestanding licensed assisted living communities (ALC) and licensed personal care homes (PCH) to retirement campuses where assisted living and personal care may be a component. resent:

- Companies that provide products and services for assisted living communities

- Other companies and individuals interested in assisted living

While GSLA membership is diverse, our mission is shared by all. GSLA wants to ensure the right of every Georgia senior who needs daily assistance to receive quality care in a choice-driven, dignified, safe, and clean residential environment.

Two days focused on one thing: the future of GSLA.

Grateful for our Board Retreat and Strategic Planning Meeting and the thoughtful conversations that helped shape what’s ahead for our organization.

Thank you to Russ Webb for leading us through the strategic planning process, and to our board and committee members for your time, insight, and commitment.

Excited for what’s ahead as these conversations guide us into 2027 and beyond.

Meet the Team: Joy Kalu!
As Manager of Education & Events, Joy helps ensure our members stay informed, our speakers are prepared, and our educational experiences run smoothly from start to finish. With nearly one year at GSLA, she has already made a big impact!

Fun fact: Joy is a dual citizen and understands three languages. 🌍

Her favorite GSLA memory? Turning 29 at her very first GSLA Conference and feeling celebrated by attendees and teammates with confetti! And if GSLA events had a signature cocktail named after Joy, she would call it— Midnight Main Character!

👏 We’re so grateful for the energy, organization, and heart Joy brings to GSLA every day.

What a fantastic few days at the NIC Spring Conference in Nashville.

GSLA President & CEO Catie Ramp, MBA, MPA joined leaders from across the country on the stage for the session, “Navigating State Regulatory and Medicaid Waiver Models: An Evaluation Framework.” Panelists explored how state regulatory environments and Medicaid waiver programs shape investment, operations, and long-term strategy in assisted living.

Representing Georgia, Catie brought a valuable perspective to the discussion around policy, payment models, and the questions operators and investors should be asking as the landscape continues to evolve.

We’re proud to see Georgia represented in national conversations that help shape the future of senior living.

Thank you to Bob Kramer, for moderating, and Jeannee Parker Martin, President and CEO, LeadingAge California, Phil Bentley, President and CEO, Oregon Health Care Association, Susan Wallace, President and CEO, LeadingAge Ohio, and Kari Thurlow, President and CEO of LeadingAge Minnasota for sharing your expertise.

We’re excited to officially welcome Jillianne Grimes, to the GSLA team as our new Director of Membership & Development!

With over 8 years of experience in association membership and a background in business development, Jillianne brings a strong passion for building relationships, creating meaningful connections, and helping members get the most out of their GSLA experience.

She’s already bringing fresh energy to the team, and we’re so excited for our members and partners to get to know her.

Fun fact: While in high school, Jillianne had the opportunity to have dinner with Drew Barrymore — but had to reschedule on her because of cheer. They ended up meeting the next day… and Drew even showed up to cheer her on at the competition. 💫

And if she could host a networking event with any celebrity? Reese Witherspoon — because she knows how to bring together ambitious, creative, and forward-thinking people.

👏 We’re so happy to have Jillianne on the GSLA team!

“Every day, families across Georgia are searching for the right place for their parent or loved one to receive care and they deserve clarity in that moment. To understand who is helping them, who is guiding them, how those services are paid for, and then how their information is going to be shared.”
