As we continue to navigate these times of immense spiritual transformation, it’s important to consider these 6 things:

1. This is not a race

2. Notice if what you’re feeling is connected to a childhood experience

3. Continue to practice grounding and clearing exercises

4. Continue to build your intuition

5. If you feel disconnected from your body, begin to notice small sensations

6. Make sure you are connected with a support team

I entered into this world and work with a specific intention of integrity, and thinking that all of the other people on the spiritual path held the same intention as me. I even had elders on my path tell me things like, “You are the real deal in a world of imposters”, which was great for my ego, but a little confusing. Like, what?

While it’s true that my mother had clear gifts, and I also have some natural abilities (that are likely amplified by my history of trauma and neurodiversity), I had a road ahead of me. Little did I know that entering into this world would create a fast track to my own shadow, and that there is simply no work-around.

I have navigated some of the most challenging social aspects of my life while on this path: being rejected, de-valued, and even ostracized by different groups and communities (spiritual and non-spiritual). I’ve had to learn to discern projection onto me from others, and to distiguish that from my own shadow.

This was a huge lesson for me: “is it mine, or someone else’s?” And then, learning not to pick it up if it wasn’t mine. This led to another one of the big lessons of my life; learning how to set boundaries, when that was not modeled in my childhood home. I’ve had to accept that I am not everyone’s cup of tea, and to be OK with that. I’ve also had to flex on when to say “no—enough”; to finally release the need to please everyone.

Interoception

This is a sense of the internal body:

🩷Homeostasis functions like heart rate, hunger, thirst, bathroom needs

🩷Awareness of an internal state that it may cause like overwhelm, sleepiness, etc.

🩷Awareness of connection to an emotional state such as frustration, agitation, joy, excitement connected to the sensation

Paying attention to our internal states is very important, and helps build our interoception, which is diminished with trauma and neurodiversity.

This practice can be done with children and adults.

So here we are, just post eclipse season of 2025. “The Veil is Thin” during this season, and right now, it feels to me like the veil is totally off.

We may experience the unseen world in more tangible ways than ever. Our psychic abilities might feel more accessible, or even supercharged. We might experience spirit in different forms, see lights, orbs, synchronicities or even geometries.

Intuitive hits become more clear. Things that were previously imperceptible become highlighted.

If you are sensitive, you might really feel this.

As a sensitive, neurodiverse person who works with sensitive, neurodiverse children (and adults), I have made the link between neurodiversity (ADHD, Autism, OCD), trauma, and intuition in my pediatric OT practice since 2007.
