Richmont faculty attended the recent Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) conference. Here's a quick look into their presentations and experiences:

Dr. Kathleen Bazile and Dr. Laura Land:
AI Meets Counselor Education: Empowering Educators Through Ethical and Innovative Practices
"What an energizing experience at ACES! Our session on innovative AI tools for the classroom sparked meaningful discussion around ethics and culture in the age of artificial intelligence." -Dr. Kathleen Bazile

Dr. Jenny Chien and Dr. Kendra Jackson:
It's Game Time: Tackling Cultural Competency Issues with Counseling Trainees and Effective Gatekeeping and Remediation Strategies.
"I enjoyed the opportunity to connect with our Richmont Faculty and other counselor educators across the country and to learn about the challenges and trends in the field!" -Dr. Jenny Chien

Dr. Stanley Hoover and Dr. Amanda Blackburn:
Negotiating relational space in clinical training and supervision: Transforming anxiety into courageous speech
"Our presentation explored how relational concerns within the therapy relationship often elicit anxiety and problematic avoidance among counselors-in-training. We presented a supervision model that address these concerns through curiosity, meaning-making, and courageous speech—practices that help to cultivate deeper, more authentic relationships with clients.

The conference itself was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from each other’s experience and expertise."
-Dr. Stanley Hoover

"It was meaningful to network with other counselor educators and share ideas. Richmont had 7 full-time faculty in attendance, and it was fun to connect over dinner too." -Dr. Amanda Blackburn
