🧡 Team Fred! 🧡
**major update** Happy Valentine's Day
Yesterday was a big day for Fred. He gained another pound, and for the first time since chemo in September his platelets went up 4 point by themselves.
We still haven't figured out the dental situation, but major news on transplant. This coming week Fred will have his 20th bone marrow biopsy, 20th Ommaya access (head needle), kidney function, lung function, EKG, echo, PT/OT eval, MRI, and his first PET scan to check his entire body for any cancer cells. Its going to be a long, busy week. They are also pulling in an unrelated donor for final approval to be Fred's new DNA. The donor is anonymous, but we know they've saved a life in the past and are willing to step in again and help us save Fred. Whoever you are, I hope your life is blessed back 100 fold for the care and love you are putting out. Thank you.
On the 26th we meet the main oncologist and transplant team. That day, as long as Fred's testing is all acceptable, will be Fred's second education day for transplant. Regardless of test results Fred's got a 30-40% chance he wont make the one year mark from transplant. Join us in watching him kick AML and soar through transplant again, because he's beat every statistic so far! Regardless of risk, Freds decided he's doing this transplant as long as he's approved for it. Its his only hope for a long life.
If he's approved, chemo could start the first week in March, 3 weeks from now. Things are about to get real hard real fast, but what challenge has Fred ever walked away from? He's ready, and we are ready to support him. Please join us in hope and prayer that Fred's approved for his second stem cell transplant.
