Above and Beyond - Compassion and Expertise

Sarah was concerned about her mother, Mrs. Greene, who was aging and living alone. Since Sarah lived out of state she thought a care manager could help check on her mom. Kathy began by doing her comprehensive assessment. She found Sarah was right that her mom was having a harder time taking care of her activities of daily living. Mrs. Greene was embarrassed to admit to Kathy that she was having a harder time with things lately. Kathy's warmth and caring helped Mrs. Greene, open up about the things she needed help with. She reported recent falls, some missed doctor appointments, as well as issues with keeping up with her bills. Mrs. Greene was relived as Kathy quickly came up with supportive solutions. Sarah also found peace of mind knowing an caring and warm expert has helping her mom connect to the care she needed.

Above and Beyond: Personal Touch Emergency Preparedness
Grace helped prepare her long time client Mr. Jones for the coming winter storm. In addition to making sure his generator was prepared as well as supplies in the home, Grace made some home-cooked meals. She knows his personal tastes so well, as he is very particular. She made sure he had several of his favorite meals to get through the weather. The caregivers from the home care were so grateful. Mr. Jones was able to weather the storm in the comfort of his home with his medical care taken care of as well as favorite meals.

Above and Beyond: Attending Body, Mind, and Spirit

Mrs. Jones was a "solo senior" who lived alone in her family home. Mrs. Jones had many medical conditions and doctor's appointments, which Emily helped with. Emily helped her eventually open up to the idea of moving in to an assisted living community. Mrs. Jones enjoyed the community much more than she expected. As she formed friendships, Mrs. Jones realized she had been substituting social connection with her doctor's appointments. Emily helped her reduce her anxiety and live a healthier and more fulfilling life. As Mrs. Jones approached the end of her life she was surrounded by her new found friends and Emily.
