Low energy, irritability, and sadness during darker months are common signs of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). You are not weak—you are human. Support can make this season feel more manageable.

Rainy, gray days can quietly impact mood and motivation. If you’ve noticed a shift in your energy, sleep, or outlook, you’re not alone. Seasonal changes affect our nervous systems more than we realize.
Gentle routines, light exposure, and meaningful connection help—but you don’t have to do this by yourself. Our therapists are here to walk alongside you through every season.
What helps you cope on gloomy days?

As the new year begins, many people feel inspired to reflect, reset, and set meaningful goals. Mental health goals are not about perfection—they are about support, growth, and sustainability.

Here are five goals we commonly see this time of year:

Prioritizing emotional well-being without guilt

Developing healthier coping skills for stress and anxiety

Setting and maintaining clearer personal boundaries

Improving communication in relationships

Creating greater balance between work, rest, and personal life

At AWP, our therapists are here to walk alongside you. Depending on your needs, therapy can be directive or non-directive—offering guidance, accountability, insight, and space to explore. Think of your therapist as a coach, a sounding board, and a consistent partner in your growth.

You don’t have to navigate the year ahead alone. Support is available, and progress is possible—one intentional step at a time.

“Loneliness is multiplied when you keep yourself closed off.” Many of us isolate out of self-protection, our negative self-talk becomes convincing, and the fear of putting ourselves in vulnerable scenarios becomes paralyzing—but that isolation can create a loop that feels harder to escape over time.

You are not what happened to you, and your recovery is still in your hands. Our therapists are here to hold space for you, offer grounding support, and gently guide you toward connection. Healing happens in relationship. We were never meant to navigate life alone.

If you’re ready to step out of the loneliness loop, call us today to schedule your appointment. We’re here when you’re ready.
