Do you use affirmations?
I have found affirmations to be incredibly helpful to keep my thoughts aligned with the outcomes that I want to achieve in my life.
Affirmations that are stated on a regular basis throughout the day can be used as a mantra to keep us focused and on track.
Here are a few tips to help ensure your affirmations are helping you get to your goals.
Always state your affirmation in the positive. Instead of saying, “I won’t binge eat crappy food today”, say “I eat healthy and life giving foods in the exact amounts that my body requires”.
State your affirmation in the present tense. Instead of saying, “In 3 months I will be at my goal weight”, say “ I love how my body looks and feels at my goal weight.”
Make it something believable for you. Don’t say, “I am so happy I am down 25 pounds this week.” Say, “I am so happy that I am getting healthier and closer to my goal each and every day.”
State one affirmation in the comments that you can begin to incorporate into your day.

Here are my top three tips to decrease nerve inflammation
Drink more water! Getting the recommended amount of water everyday improves circulation and flushes toxins away from cells allowing them to work better.
Cut out processed sugars! Processed sugars are inflammatory and one of the top contributors to nerve pain and damage.
So NO to artificial sweeteners and preservatives! Many are neurotoxins and damage your nerves causing more pain and symptoms.

If I could have a “do-over” I …
✔Wouldn’t have waited until I was beyond frustrated with the system to create a new way of helping people.
✔I would have trusted my gut and learned more about nutrition sooner.
✔I would have had the courage to know better and do better sooner.
I tell you this, not as “regret” ( because honestly I don’t do regret)...
BUT if my experience can save someone from years of struggle and they can learn from me so that they avoid some of the hardest things that I saw my patients and family going through…
Then I will feel like so much good has come out of a difficult situation.

Neuropathy is not just about burning, numbness or tingling
It’s about not sleeping, struggling to walk or do other day to day tasks
When people tell me their neuropathy is affecting every aspect of their life, I believe them.
The common misconception is that neuropathy only affects the feet or the hands but the reality is, the symptoms and outcomes can be much more life altering.
This is why simply patching the one symptom does not help the problem disappear.
This is also why it is so important to work with someone who understands the totality of the symptoms and how they affect every aspect of your life.
Being a chronic pain and neuropathy specialist I have seen it all and I “get it”.

The symptom my clients hate the most is….
This is honestly probably the worst part about having neuropathy!
When my clients experience neuropathy pain they feel exhausted and frustrated because the pain can be so intense that it interferes with their day to day activities and sleep.
It is so easy to focus on the pain and symptoms and let it become the dominating thought in your mind
BUT… don’t allow your feelings about neuropathy to sidetrack you from your goal of getting real relief for good.
It is during these times that I encourage you to double down on your resolve to not let neuropathy take over your life.
I have learned that whether or not you succeed on a particular day is not the goal you should be focused on.
Rather, it should be -
💥What are you learning and how are you improving?
💥What are your triggers?
💥What causes the neuropathy to get worse?
💥What makes it better?
💥What do you need from yourself and others to help reduce the impact of the problem on your life?
Answering these empowering questions instead of disempowering questions like, “why is this happening to me?” or, “why can’t I get it together?” or, “what is wrong with me?”, can make all the difference between success and failure.

I KNOW how tempting it can be to try the latest fad or celebrity endorsed product for your neuropathy symptoms
But let me tell you…
I have seen it soooo many times to know that these are all the same thing wrapped up in different packaging.
These are not long term solutions to neuropathy.
While they may give you temporary relief from pain, burning, tingling...
They are not ultimately going to help you get to your goal of long term and lasting relief

When you hit the wall and are not getting results…here’s why
#1 The traditional way to address neuropathy does not consider the root cause issues.
#2 Medications only mask neuropathy symptoms– they don’t fix the inflammation.
#3 It takes longer than you might expect to turn neuropathy around…keep going!
#4 You are listening to too many people and getting conflicting information.
#5 Hitting the wall is actually part of the process. Everyone will plateau before they continue to see results.

MY 3 HABITS THAT KEEP MY SLEEP ON TRACK
1. I shut off all screens by 9pm and pick up a book instead. This helps ensure that the blue light isn’t messing with my sleep hormones.

2. I go to bed and get up at the same time every day - even on the weekends. My body loves routine and this supports my adrenals.

3. I take my Serenity softgel 30 min before bed. The herbs in it support healthy sleep cycles and help my brain relax into a deeper sleep.
