It’s been WAY too long! Instagram, I’m back! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a pediatric nurse of 25 years (currently a part-time school nurse), sleep and infant-toddler consultant, prenatal educator and a balanced, supportive (I believe in paci’s and bottles) lactation consultant. My DEEPEST passion is partnering with new families and help shorten the learning curve and providing DAILY support. Could you use some guidance? Reach out! I have a variety of packages to meet all goals and needs. Keep in mind though, NONE of my packages are single interactions. I believe in a relationship that is ongoing. Kids change minute by minute. It’s that time of the year! Sniffles, fevers, cough and more have definitely appeared. Sitting at the pediatrician on Friday reminded me of something so do and share with you: clean toys that go in the mouth regularly!! (just like washing hands regularly).

REMEMBER: you must let cleaning products sit on the surface for a designated amount of time (check cleaning product recommendations), rub item and/or use hot, soapy water to effectively kill those nasty bugs.

2 of our 5 are down for the count but 🤞🏻 the rest of us remain flu free!

Question of the week: What can I do to prepare my baby for swaddle removal?

Answer: TUMMY TIME!!! Tuck those little elbows under 👶 and help them build that upper body + arm strength. All you can do is help them get stronger which will help them manage arms free better even if the startle reflex has not quite disappeared yet.

Good Morning! It’s Saturday!!
I hope you have some margin in your day today to do something that recharges your batteries.

I love sleep (no surprise there since part of my job is helping families achieve good sleep habits) but I also love space in the morning-quiet time-before the house starts moving.

So how do I achieve that? We put our foster baby on a 8-8 schedule (and our other kids are teenagers who sleep in a little) which allows me to get up before her. ALWAYS do what works for YOUR family. This is an advantage of working with me 👍. Schedules will ALWAYS be personalized. In a newborn, infant or toddler consultation, we will walk through your family schedule and create something that is going to work for your specific needs and your 👶.

There is no better job in the world that coming along side families and guiding and supporting—truly a privilege. And this is how it starts… A little quiet time so I can serve you all well. Have an incredible Saturday!

Happy National Read a Book Day! Read to your kids early and often. Research is clear that reading is a wonderful way to promote verbal skills and brain activity in your infants and toddlers.

My favorites include ANY book but my absolute favorite for morning: Hey Wake Up bedtime: The Going to Bed Book. Check them out! Enjoy this time with your kids. It flies by way to fast. Before you know it, they’ll be reading on their own and no more snuggles with a book together.

Remain flexible. Try for a couple of naps per day in the crib but also consider how wonderful contact naps and flexible naps can be for baby AND caregivers. Nothing more special than a sleeping 😴 👶in your arms!

Mix formula in advance and in larger quantities! Why?

**It will be ready when baby is hungry NOW.

**Premixing helps reduce bubbles (less chance of gas for baby).

**No need to buy any fancy devices. I use a protein shaker ball container. Clumps melt away. Small and easy cleaning. Mine holds 24 oz.

Note: premixed formula is good for 24 hours when kept in fridge

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who mother! It definitely takes a village to raise these kiddos and believes moms come in LOTS of different forms.

I am a step-mom, bio-mom, foster mom, fur baby mom (3), “like mom” to close friends’ kiddos. While each hat can be challenging, it is equally joyful. Wow, do we learn to much as moms. It is humbling FOR SURE!

Mom, enjoy today. A special happy day to all those first time moms and those who are waiting to be a mom.
