Behavior and mental health challenges can affect how children learn, feel, and connect at school. Georgia parents do not have to navigate this alone.

Join us for a free, 60‑minute virtual training designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 0–18 in Georgia. You will learn how to recognize early signs of behavioral health concerns, how life circumstances (such as housing, stress, and access to care) can affect behavior, and how to advocate for support in child care, preschool, and K–12 schools.

We are bringing vital resources directly to our young people. Join Silence The Shame for our Restoring Hope Resource Fair on April 18, 2026, from 12:00–3:00 PM, open to youth and young adults ages 16–24.
In partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Children, Young Adults, and Families, this collaborative community event is designed to support young people during key life transitions. Particularly those youth impacted by juvenile justice or court involvement and those aging out of foster care.

Participants will experience a welcoming, youth-centered space where they can connect directly with trusted organizations offering support in:

Healthcare navigation and access

Trauma-informed wellness and mental health

Employment and education

Housing and economic stability

Legal and advocacy support

Giveaways will be available throughout the event.

If you know a young person who may benefit, please share the attached flyer.

Thank you in advance for helping us spread the word. We truly appreciate the support

Parents, please be aware of the growing use of psychedelic mushrooms (psilocybin) among teens.

“Mushrooms” can seriously affect both the body and the mind. While some people talk about them like they’re harmless or “natural,” the truth is they can cause:

• Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t there)
• Extreme anxiety, panic attacks, or paranoia
• Confusion and poor judgment
• Increased heart rate and blood pressure
• Nausea and vomiting
• Risky behavior while under the influence

For youth with underlying mental health conditions (especially anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or a family history of psychosis), mushrooms can trigger long-lasting psychological effects or worsen symptoms.

Please talk to your children openly. Educate them without shaming them. Ask questions. Listen. Prevention starts with awareness and safe conversations at home.

Stay informed. Stay connected. 💛
