January is Teen Driving Awareness Month, and it’s a good reminder for parents and teens alike to talk about safe driving habits.

Teen drivers are still gaining experience behind the wheel, which makes patience, focus, and good decision-making critical. Speeding, distracted driving, and not wearing seat belts continue to be leading causes of serious crashes involving young drivers.

We encourage parents to have open conversations with their teens about:
• Buckling up every time
• Putting phones away while driving
• Obeying speed limits and traffic laws

Safe driving habits learned early can last a lifetime.
