Sleep Doctors Agree…”It’s Time To Wake Up & Get More Sleep”!
Research shows that lack of sleep is one of the most dangerous health issues affecting adults today! So how much sleep do you actually need? Studies show that adults need 7-9 hours of “good sleep” a night. However, the CDC states that close to 40% of men get less than seven hours of sleep a night.
So, is it really that serious to get plenty of sleep at night? YES! Long term sleep deprivation puts you at greater risk for chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes. As a matter of fact, anything less than seven hours significantly increases the risk of age-related conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
If you’re having trouble getting enough sleep, talk to our pharmacist. There are OTC products that help a lot of patients get to sleep and stay asleep. Plus, there are things you can do (or not do) that we can discuss with you that can help you get that well-deserved sleep you’ve been missing.
