As we reflect on this year, we are truly blessed in so many ways. We are deeply thankful for our consumers, their families and loved ones, and—so very importantly—our amazing staff who dedicate their time, hearts, and lives to being caregivers.

Unlike typical jobs, we never close. The individuals we support need care every day, including holidays, and it takes very special people to step into that role with compassion, patience, and love. We truly treasure each and every one of you and are so grateful for all that you do for those who need it most.

From our hearts to yours, we are extremely thankful for each of you and hope your holiday is filled with love, joy, peace, and blessings.

Avid is expanding to the Lubbock area and we are building a network of contractors to provide services to those in the special needs/IDD community. Specifically, looking for interested Registered Nurses, host home providers, OT/PT/Speech/Audiologists/Behavior Specialists/Dentists willing to contract with us. Please let me know of any great people looking to work with our community of individuals.

14 group homes at the Texana Center, who is the county LIDDA and a non-profit, closing due to inadequate state funding from this legislative session. It’s definitely tight when the government itself is unable to meet its funding obligations to serve individuals in group homes. 54 IDD/special needs individuals losing their homes. By the way, both Denton and Collin County no longer operate group homes for the same reason. Link to Story:
