😱 Cavities aren’t the biggest threat—
gum disease steals more smiles than you think!

Cavities are common, but gum disease silently damages the bone that holds your teeth. Regular cleanings remove tartar and protect your smile from tooth loss!

While cavities (tooth decay) can cause tooth loss if left untreated, the #1 cause of tooth loss in adults is actually gum disease (periodontal disease). The bacteria in tartar and plaque irritate your gums, which can lead to gum recession, bone loss, and eventually teeth becoming loose and falling out. Cavities alone rarely cause tooth loss unless they’re extremely deep or complicated by infection.

Bet you can’t guess what keeps tartar at bay??
