More good information on light therapy. Light is food for the body.
Is LLLT fiferent than LED red light? Not really. LLLT allows for faster treament exposure. But it is really about the wavelength of light. LED just needs closer to 30 minutes of exposure instead of 3 to 4 minutes.

After 10 sessions of near-infrared low-level laser therapy, 47% of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis were able to stop levothyroxine and maintain normal thyroid hormone levels. This groundbreaking therapy, known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation, harnesses near-infrared light (about 600–1100 nm) to stimulate cellular processes without generating heat. A 2022 review in the Journal of Lasers in Medical Sciences revealed that LLLT can significantly reduce inflammation in the thyroid gland, lower oxidative stress, and enhance blood circulation. These remarkable biological effects may help mitigate immune-mediated damage in autoimmune thyroiditis, a condition where the immune system attacks thyroid tissue, leading to hypothyroidism. Clinical studies highlighted in the review demonstrated impressive improvements in patients. In a randomized placebo-controlled trial involving 23 patients, LLLT sessions twice a week for five weeks led to significant enhancements in thyroid hormone levels (T3, T4, TSH), with 22 patients requiring lower doses of levothyroxine during a 9-month follow-up. Another study found that 78% of patients experienced normalization of autoimmune responses after just four months of LLLT, along with a reduction in thyroid gland size. Long-term follow-up research extending up to six years also indicated that this therapy is safe and may decrease medication needs while improving thyroid function and vascularization. This makes you wonder what else we've been wrong about in treating autoimmune conditions.
