🌍It’s From the Field Friday!🌍

Last Friday, we introduced Ark of Hope – Nepal, and on Tuesday many of you joined us for a LIVE prayer call to pray with and for their team. During that time, we learned that Peter, the founder of Ark of Hope, lost his mother earlier this week.

So alongside praying for the ministry, we paused to lift up Peter and his family. It was such a sweet time full of heartfelt prayers. 💛

Several of you reached out saying you couldn’t join but still wanted the prayer requests, so today we’re sharing them with you. 🙏

Drop an emoji in the comments if you took a moment to pray for Peter, Roni, and Ark of Hope – Nepal.

It’s Who We Are Wednesday! ✨

Last week, we illustrated our first Core Value, Relational vs. Institutional. Today, we want to show what that looks like in action.

You may know us for building clinics, hospitals, and healthcare projects around the world. 🌍 But at the heart of everything we do is a deeper conviction: God created us for relationship, first with Him, then with one another ✝️

We build relationships with partners like you, so together we can build relationships with like-minded healthcare partners around the world. Those partners use healthcare as a way to build trust within their communities. Trust opens doors. Relationships create space. And that space allows us to share the gospel and invite others into true healing through the ultimate relationship with Jesus Christ ❤️

Relationships take time. For us, that time often looks like traveling to meet face-to-face ✈️, breaking bread together 🍽️, praying together 🙏, listening, and learning from one another across cultures.

As always, we love hearing from you. Do you have questions about our projects or how we live out this calling? Ask us! Send us a DM, reach out by email, or get bonus points 😁 for asking in the comments below! 💬

🌍 From the Field Friday 🌍

This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Ark of Hope, our project partners in Nepal, before our LIVE Zoom prayer call on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

👫 Peter and Dr. Ronima (Roni) Gurung are the dynamic husband-and-wife team behind Ark of Hope. Raised in a small Nepali village, Peter’s journey to Christ was anything but linear. In 2003, he moved to the UAE seeking opportunity, and in a Muslim nation, God used a former Buddhist from Bhutan to introduce Peter, a Nepali Hindu, to Jesus. Peter planted and pastored the first Nepali church in the UAE.

📚 Peter holds degrees in theology and an MBA from the UK, as well as a certificate in Healthcare Administration from Kanad Hospital. 🩺Roni is an eye doctor from the Philippines. She earned her PhD in Paris and was later called by God to help launch an ophthalmology clinic at Kanad Hospital, where the two met and married 17 years ago.

Leaving behind greater comforts in the West, God called Peter and Roni to Peter's homeland to begin a multifaceted ministry centered on church planting, discipleship, and healthcare.

♥️ Their heart is simple and powerful:

“We want to do everything with professional excellence that communicates the love of Christ.”

Nepal faces a significant lack of affordable, accessible, and compassionate healthcare. Government care can be limited and difficult to access, while private care is often expensive and transactional. In response, Peter and Roni have sacrificially invested their own resources to build Ark of Hope, a seven-story outpatient clinic that will offer primary care, dental, vision, physical therapy, and space for biblical training and discipleship.

🤝 Healthbridge is honored to come alongside them to help finish what the Lord has begun.

🙏 Join us Tuesday as we pray together and hear directly from the field. Tell us what you want to know from them in the comments below!

It's Who We Are Wednesday! ✨

📌Today we are highlighting our first Core Value: Relational over Institutional

🏛️ Institutions come and go.
📋 Projects come and go.
⛪ Churches, schools, hospitals, and clinics come and go.

🤝 Relationships are eternal.

🌏Yes, our mission is to build clinics and hospitals and carry out healthcare projects around the world. But at the heart of everything we do is a deeper conviction: God created us for relationship, first with Him and then with one another.

This belief shapes everything we do:
➡️ how our staff and board engage
➡️ how we partner with local leaders
➡️ how we communicate with partners like you

❤️ We don’t just build projects. We build trusted relationships.

🙏 Thank you for being one of our trusted, relational partners.
🤍 We’re grateful to call you a friend.

From the Field Friday 🌍

Last week, we introduced you to Kibuye Hope Hospital in Burundi. Today, we are highlighting the heart behind the hospital. Meet their dynamic leader, Rev. Dr. Gilbert Kibinakanwa 💙

Born in a rural Burundian village and raised by his mother after losing his father at a young age, Dr. Gilbert’s journey was anything but easy. He started school later than most, but carried a big dream and a high calling from God: to study medicine and serve his country.

When the path to medical school wasn’t yet open to him, he didn’t stop serving. He spent 15 years in education as a teacher and principal 📚, answered a call to ministry as a pastor ⛪ (a role he still serves in today), and faithfully followed where God led, step by step.

Finally, God opened a door through Hope Africa University, where Dr. Gilbert pursued medicine. Just months after graduating, he was appointed to leadership at Kibuye Hope Hospital, where he had already been serving as a physician and nurse educator. Since then, he’s earned a master’s degree in healthcare management and spent nearly a decade leading the hospital as CEO, navigating the realities of rural healthcare with wisdom, compassion, and vision.

Teacher. Pastor. Doctor. Husband. Father (of five!).
A life shaped by resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to serve. ✨

We’re honored to partner with leaders like Dr. Gilbert who embody hope in action.

It’s Who We Are Wednesday! ✨

Last week, we shared our Mission and how we do what we do. Today, we’re giving you a preview of the 8 Core Values that anchor ⚓ that mission.

These values are our compass 🧭guiding how we make decisions, take action, and grow.

We hope these values build trust🤝and reflect the consistency and integrity you can expect from us.

This is just a teaser, so be sure to follow along as we share and elaborate on each value in the coming weeks! 💙

As always, we’d love to hear from you! DM or email us anytime with questions, and tell us in the comments which value resonates most with you 👇

From the Field Friday ✨

Last October, our fearless leader (Jon, of course) traveled to Africa to visit several of our project sites, including our partners at Kibuye Hope Hospital in Burundi. Their motto captures their calling: “We work for God, who heals and gives life.”

Faith is intentionally woven into every part of hospital life, from medical care and chaplaincy, to discipleship for students and staff. Their vision is excellence in healthcare where the love of God is made visible to all. 🙏

Built in 1946 as one of Burundi’s first hospitals, Kibuye Hope Hospital is a respected Christian university hospital, receiving referrals from four government hospitals and dozens of community clinics throughout the region.

Operating in a challenging economic environment, the hospital has developed innovative, resilient solutions to meet ongoing infrastructure needs:
☀️ Solar power and battery backups provide reliable electricity
🧱 An in-house brick factory supports construction and maintenance
💧 A self-managed wastewater system improves sanitation and sustainability

Over the past 12 years, nearly every department has been renovated or rebuilt. The next critical needs include the emergency department, outpatient clinics, and a new registration and triage area. Once the new emergency department is complete (this is where we’re honored to help), the former space will be transformed into an expanded outpatient center with consultation rooms, dental care, and welcoming patient waiting areas.

We’re grateful to walk alongside partners like Kibuye Hope Hospital, where faith, excellence, and compassion meet. ♥️

It’s Who We Are Wednesday!

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve probably heard our mission, our core values, and maybe even have a favorite project. But because our approach is a little different in the nonprofit world, we’re spending the next few Wednesdays sharing our five W’s.

We hope you enjoy this peek behind the curtain and get to know us a little better. Have a question? Send us a DM. We always love hearing from you. 💬

And tell us in the comments: what do you think is the most important part of our mission or the way we do our work?

🎉🎉🎉Happy Birthday, Dr. David! 🎉🎉🎉

We celebrate you a little more than we normally do today!

Founder of Pro Vita and the soon-to-open LIFE Medical Center, he is a true champion for life. Believing that mothers deserve the best care possible during the crucial periods of pregnancy, birth, and recovery, he has served Romanian mothers and babies with excellence, courage, and Christ-centered compassion for over 30 years.

We are so thankful to God for his calling, his faithfulness, and the way he demonstrates that every child is precious.

PS - You can hear from Dr. David yourself if you head over to our YouTube channel and watch our LIFE Medical Project video. Pro tip - grab a handful of tissues first.♥
