Auburn Community Hospital Auburn Community Hospital is a not-for-profit, 99-bed acute care facility located in Auburn, NY.

Founded in 1878 by a group of community-minded individuals who recognized the growing health care needs of Auburn and Cayuga County, the original 13-bed hospital was called Auburn City Hospital, located at the current site on Lansing Street. ACH is the sole provider of acute and general hospital services in Cayuga County and the surrounding areas, located in the Finger Lakes region of Central New

York. Our mission is to provide compassionate quality care to our community. Over 95% of the physicians on staff are board certified in at least one specialty.

At Auburn Community Hospital, Dr. Jonathan Huang, Chief of Auburn Gastroenterology & Hepatology, brings more than 20 years of experience and highly specialized expertise in liver disease to our community. As one of the few practicing hepatologists in Upstate New York, Dr. Huang is helping expand access to advanced liver and digestive care.

Today, in partnership with 1199 SEIU, we had the honor of welcoming New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli NY .

Comptroller DiNapoli met with ACH leadership and our outstanding 1199 SEIU nurses to learn more about delivering care in rural settings and how Auburn Community Hospital is innovating to provide a healthy future for our community. We also toured the new cardiac catheterization lab, cancer center, and operating rooms currently under construction.

Drs. Melanie and Nicholas Groch bring more than 20 years of experience each in otolaryngology, with specialized training in head and neck surgery and facial plastic surgery. Both are board-certified and provide comprehensive care for a full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat conditions.

This April, in recognition of Donate Life Month, we are honored to share a story that reminds us of the profound impact one decision can make.

Three years ago, on the most difficult day of her life, Franci VanWie lost her husband. Because he made the choice to be a registered organ donor, his legacy lives on—saving the life of a woman in New Jersey and giving hope to others.

Today, Franci carries that legacy forward as an RN, Perioperative Educator and as our Donate Life Champion at Auburn Community Hospital, helping to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

On March 25, we celebrated the official ribbon cutting of our new Cardiac Catheterization Lab, bringing advanced, life-saving heart care closer to home for our community.

Since opening in January, our cardiac team has already performed over 130 procedures, including multiple emergency STEMI interventions, providing critical care when every second counts.

This milestone reflects our continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality cardiac services right here in Cayuga County, in partnership with the UR Medicine
