As a partner of the American Red Cross, Auburn Community Hospital is sharing an urgent update: the national blood supply has dropped nearly 35% in the past month, as hospital needs continue to outpace donations. Winter storms and flu season are contributing to the shortage.

Blood donations help ensure patients can receive the care they need. Schedule an appointment to donate:

With winter sports in full swing, keeping student-athletes safe remains a top priority. Through the partnership between Auburn Orthopedic Specialists (AOS) and the Auburn Concussion Clinic, athletic trainers provide on-site sports medicine coverage and baseline concussion testing for Auburn student-athletes.

Using ImPACT® baseline testing, athletes complete a computerized assessment that measures memory, reaction time, and processing speed. In the event of a head injury during winter or fall sports, post-injury results can be compared to baseline scores to support accurate evaluation, guide recovery, and help determine when it is safe to return to play. These results are used alongside clinical assessments, symptom reports, balance testing, and vision screening for a comprehensive approach to concussion care.

And when injuries happen on or off the field, AOS offers a walk-in Orthopedic Urgent Care and access to multiple physicians who specialize in sports medicine.

We’re proud to support the health, safety, and long-term well-being of our local athletes throughout every season.
