January is my favorite time of year. The days are slowly getting longer, the air is fresh and crisp, and while January storms tend to be wild and dark with all the fury of Mother Nature behind them, the sunny days bring soft glimpses of the coming spring with new green life peeking out from wherever September left her seeds.
Energetically speaking, winter is a time of introspection, a time when we turn inward and quietly prepare our own seeds to bloom in the spring of life.

Here at we too have been busy incubating our own seeds, quietly planning some new projects to share with you all in a few months. We think you’ll love what we’ve been brewing so stay tuned and in the meantime don’t forget to schedule your self care session with one of our fabulous therapists! We are now open 7 days each week!

In this day of social media and selfies, so many people seem to confuse their path, their story with their identity. We are not our story. Or our path. We have been hewn from both of these things, they have directly shaped who we are today but that does not make us one in the same. Our story is a collection of memories of the things that have happened to us based on the choices we make or life events we have lived through, it is the past. Our path is the places we have been and where we are going because of those same choices and events. Who we are is much more complex than just a path and a story. Who we are is a lifetime of experiences that have shaped opinions, nuances of personality, moral values, spiritual beliefs and so much more and as our experience and understanding grows, so do we. None of these things that are inherently “us” are ever static, we as humans are in a constant state of growth, of personal evolution. We are fluid. A story has already been and a path is never certain until it is behind us. When we get stuck in the notion of being our story or a path, we become stagnant, sick, depressed. We must remember that although our feet carry us through this life, we are not our feet. Feel your fluidity, choose your path, create the story you want to see when you look back.

Welcome to our newest therapist, Laura Kiker. Laura joined our team over the summer and has been an absolutely rock-solid asset since the first day. She is warm and bright, kind and funny, and her massage is dynamic and intuitive. What does that last part mean? It means that she provides one of the most nurturing, deeply therapeutic and restorative massage experiences I’ve ever encountered, and she does it with such casual ease I’m convinced she doesn’t even know how magical her hands are.
