This Saturday morning at Ride For A Cause, we’ll be honoring an amazing man, Curt Van Hooser, whose impact on this community will never be forgotten. Join us at 8:30am to celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind.

This Saturday morning at 8:30am, during the opening ceremony of the Ride For A Cause, we’ll be presenting a special memorial plaque to Curt Van Hooser’s wife in his honor. Curt was more than just a rider; he was a leader, a friend, and a man whose life touched countless others. His dedication to veterans, his passion for service, and his love for the road will never be forgotten.

As the plaque says, “A life that touches others goes on forever.” Curt’s spirit will continue to ride with us, and his memory will always remain a part of this community.

Our community lost a truly incredible man. 💔 Curt Van Hooser wasn’t just a friend; he was family to so many of us. From leading the Sierra Thunder Harley Owners Group to giving his heart and time to The Forgotten Soldier Program, Curt lived a life of service and generosity.

Please keep his wife, Cyndee Reed Van Hooser, and their family in your prayers. If you’re able, consider donating to support Cyndee and help carry on Curt’s legacy through a memorial scholarship fund.

Ride on, Curt. You’ll never be forgotten. 🕊️❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our dear friend and volunteer, Curt Van Hooser, who tragically passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Curt was more than just a volunteer with The Forgotten Soldier Program; he was family.

Curt dedicated countless hours to helping veterans in our community and played a pivotal role in organizing the Ride For A Cause over the past five years. A respected retired Sutter Health employee, he was also the first Director and Founder of the Sierra Thunder Harley Owners Group. He was a leader whose passion for riding and service brought people together in powerful ways.

Now, as Curt’s wife Cyndee Reed Van Hooser faces this unimaginable loss, she is also carrying the weight of funeral costs and everyday expenses. Curt had only recently retired, and Cyndee was left without the security they had planned for together.

To honor Curt’s memory and support Cyndee, his family has established a GoFundMe. In addition, at this year’s Ride For A Cause on Saturday, October 4th, at Harley-Davidson of Folsom, there will be a dedicated table to honor Curt.

Funds raised will help Cyndee during this difficult time and establish a memorial scholarship in Curt’s name for students pursuing careers in motorcycle and automotive mechanics. Any remaining funds will support the annual Curt Van Hooser Scholarship Fund.

Curt lived a life of generosity, leadership, and community. His spirit will forever ride alongside us, and his legacy will continue to impact lives for years to come.

Please join us in keeping Cyndee and Curt’s family in your thoughts and prayers, and in honoring his life by supporting the causes he cared about so deeply.

Please consider donating to the Van Hooser family GoFundMe here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/honor-curt-van-hooser-support-his-memorial

QUICK NOTE: Ride For A Cause event proceeds will continue to benefit The Forgotten Soldier Program as always. Only donations made at Curt’s dedicated event table or through the GoFundMe will go directly to his family.
