Yogurt helps lower or manage cortisol levels primarily through its high probiotic content, which supports a healthy gut-brain axis and reduces inflammation. As a fermented food, regular consumption of plain yogurt can decrease anxiety and stress-related cortisol spikes.
The live, active cultures in yogurt (especially Greek yogurt) act as probiotics, which can reduce inflammation that often drives high cortisol. A healthy gut microbiome supported by yogurt can regulate the body's stress response, potentially lowering anxiety.
Plain, unsweetened yogurt is recommended to avoid adding stress-inducing sugar to your diet, per the Cleveland Vlinic. .

Yogurt is also a good source of protein and sometimes magnesium, both of which help manage and stabilize cortisol levels.

Want an additional boost? Add some fiber and some prebiotic by adding a teaspoon of chia seeds to you yogurt with some berries.

Your gut does more for you than you think—energy, immunity, mood, even focus. The good news? Taking care of it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Simple ways to support your gut health:
• Drink more water 💧
• Add fiber (fruits, veggies, whole grains)
• Include fermented foods like yogurt or sauerkraut
• Slow down when you eat—chew and breathe
• Move your body daily (even a walk counts!)
• Manage stress… your gut feels it too

Fitness & Health Coaching Opportunity- Full or Part time
We are seeking a motivated graduate of an Exercise Science program who is interested in personal training, fitness nutrition, and health coaching. The ideal candidate enjoys working with individuals of all ages and fitness levels and is comfortable supporting clients with medical diagnoses as well as those striving to improve their overall health and wellness. Full ideal, but part partwill be considered.
Group exercise experience is a plus but not required. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivating individual who enjoys helping others reach their goals.
This position also offers the opportunity for on the job cross-training as a therapy aide/medical assistant, providing valuable hands-on experience in a clinical wellness environment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday.
Our clinic is staffed with Athletic Trainers, a Nurse practitioner, Doctor of Osteopath, massage therapist, personal Trainer and health coach. We are a nontraditional clinic that has been in operation for over 30 years. We have services in our clinic as well in occupational settings. We strive to make a difference in the health of our community, one person at a time.

Licensed Athletic Trainer (LATC)
Central Maine Conditioning Clinic – Auburn, Maine
Central Maine Conditioning Clinic is seeking a full-time or part-time Licensed Athletic Trainer (LATC) to join our team in a traditional and non-traditional clinical setting.
This position focuses on injury prevention, strength and conditioning, functional rehabilitation, and wellness programming in both an outpatient clinic and occupational/workplace environments. The role includes working with athletes, injured workers, and individuals seeking to improve health and performance. Occasional collegiate game coverage may also be available.
Qualifications
• Maine State Licensed Athletic Trainer or Maine State licensure eligible
• Interest in strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and wellness
• Clinical or occupational health experience is helpful but not required
• Experience with return-to-work or functional testing is a plus
