Just in case you needed a reminder, CONSISTENCY is the most important ingredient in your health and fitness success.

When you show up and train intentionally, with regularity, your goals become within reach. Consistency does not mean perfection. Consistency allows you to listen to your body when it requires rest and take a day off. Consistency makes room for anniversaries and special dinners and vacation without completely derailing your progress because those are exceptions, not the norm.

I took a trip down memory lane with some old photos like this one and felt happy about the journey I’m traveling.

Progress is often visible only after you’ve buried yourself in the work toward your goals, then you look back to see how far you came.

When I started my training journey, I used all the methods that the well known fitness professionals recommended, both for myself and my clients. And I felt good at my craft, as long as people were there to see me for weight loss or muscle gain.

I was becoming increasingly frustrated that the so called expert methodology for helping people regain their ability after injury, fell short of any significant improvement. And I had a personal stake in figuring out a meaningful regimen, because my knees were in pain. I tried EVERYTHING! Physical therapy, acupuncture, ice baths, and massage; if someone said it helped, I investigated.

Unfortunately, there were only moments temporary relief, no long lasting recovery. That is until I discovered the Functional Patterns training program.

Not only have I found the way to heal my own dysfunction, but I am able to share my knowledge and experience with my clients to help them experience freedom from pain.

As a Functional Patterns practitioner, I can see that your posture is a representation of how well you move. If you want to correct your posture, you have to teach your body how to move well; they are intrinsically connected, where posture follows movement.

Unfortunately, there is a common misconception that correcting one’s posture can be achieved by simply remembering some basic cues, despite poor or sloppy movement. That line of reasoning is false.

Here’s the truth: your posture is a by-product of your functional status as a human, and it tells the tale of your movement. As a functional trainer, I am able to extract necessary information about your movement weaknesses, and then tailor the training session to improve your movement of that particular exercise, on that particular day. There is no one size fits all program. At Metrics, we help you take responsibility of your body and teach you the foundation for living a whole life, pain-free.

The foundation of your home begins to erode from the tiniest shifts over time. Those minuscule changes create major damage and costs untold thousands of dollars to repair.
