CoronaVirus Conspiracy; What To Do?
Now that you have been pumped full of anxiety by the media, and told our only "hope" is a vaccine, ready in about a year, you ask "What can I do NOW?" First, as a doctor, I always promote protecting yourself first. You already know about washing hands, avoiding contact with elders or crowded places when you are ill. But there are some other things you may not know, that may have a bigger impact on your health.
First, keep your Vitamin D levels over 50nm/ul. I recommend blood testing Vit D levels in October. Unless you supplement, the Vitamin D you have stored by October is all you have until late Spring, when the Sun's UVB rays are at a sufficient angle to help you make Vit D in the skin. Vitamin D3 is actually a hormone, and an immune system modulator; meaning if you fall below a certain value your immune system will not work efficiently. So, if you have a low value in October, it will lower through Winter and Spring, causing a vulnerable immune system.
If you want to give your immune system a fighting chance, there are some basics; Eat foods rich in Vitamins A and C, as well as fermented foods to give the gut a good foundation for a healthy Biome. I also recommend ingesting a small amount of Organic Bone Broth and coconut butter or oil. These have immune building properties and well as anti viral activity. Eat plenty of Alkaline veggie and fruits, and/or supplement your diet with alfalfa, seaweed (PC= sea veges) and Chlorophyll rich foods. These will help you detoxify and keep your body pH in a healthy range.
Lastly, you need to know about Glutathione. This molecule is made in our body as an extremely potent antioxidant. In its reduced form, can neutralize a million times more free radicals than those found in food! The good news is you produce plenty when young; bad news is... you guessed it, the older we get the less we produce. But exercise increases Glutathione production, and so does ingesting 'undenatured whey'. My favorite though is a new sublingual lozenge that gets Glutathione in the system directly. Feeling poorly, pop a G-lozenge, with zinc, of course!
So choose your lifestyle carefully, don't tempt fate and mostly, protect your health and your rights! Your health is the most important defense against ANY contagion, not the government or your doctor, and certainly NOT the pharmaceutical industry!
