"On Christmas Eve I had a heart attack. I had excellent care in the emergency room at Nemaha County Hospital (NCH). I was transferred to Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. This is where I had open heart surgery with multiple bypasses. I am now doing Cardiac Rehab at NCH.

We are grateful that we can do this rehab locally. Sandy has taught me a lot about nutrition, healthier living, and exercise. I am finishing week three of the scheduled 12 weeks. They are genuinely concerned about my progress and wellbeing. I would like to thank them for the help that they have given me to recover!" -Randall Rippe

"When I turned 80 years old in 2020, I bragged, 'I don’t take any medication. I don’t go to the doctor! There is nothing wrong with me.' Then, at age 82, I had some medical issues, including having the following heart procedures: stents, a mitral valve clip, and a Watchman implant. So, don’t go bragging about good health. Instead, keep it in check and go for annual check-ups.

We are fortunate to have great cardiologists come to Nemaha County Hospital’s (NCH) specialty outpatient clinics. Dr. Netz, with Pioneer Heart Institute (PHI), referred me to NCH’s Cardiac Rehab. Sandy and Susan are great to work with. They have been helpful in improving my lifestyle. It’s great to have this available in our community! No traveling—it is just right on top of the hill!" - Eldon Kistner
