Sketch Spotlight: Amber West (Singer & Guitarist, )
What started as a way to stay grounded during open mics—sketching on my iPhone to keep my hands busy and my mind tuned into the music—quickly turned into something bigger. Those early one- or two-color doodles have evolved into detailed, expressive pieces, and the support I’ve gotten along the way has meant everything. I’m not slowing down anytime soon, so follow along for more.
I caught this moment during one of our Fierce & Fretted shows—an all-female musician concert series my friends and I help put together a few times a year. Amber West has one of those voices that grabs you instantly. There’s a raw, captivating quality in the way she performs, and I wanted this sketch to feel alive with that same energy and emotion.
Keep an eye out for her upcoming album Rinney, releasing at the start of 2026. If her live shows are any indication, and I know they are, it’s going to be unforgettable.
