Karma Yoga rocks.

There is nothing — nothing — like getting my hands in the earth and feeling my whole heart light up. Selfless service isn’t some lofty idea… it’s right here, in the dirt, the sweat, the tending, the giving.

This place holds people from all over the world. To even play a tiny part in caring for the land that cares for so many? That’s Bhakti in motion. That’s devotion in real time.

And as we move into the holidays, this is the reminder:
Put your hands & your heart to work.
It doesn’t cost a penny — just a willingness to show up for the people you love, for your community, for the world right in front of you.

Be good. Do good. Be compassionate.

✨ “We’re not the same people who arrived here.”

That line hits differently when you’re living it.
This month has been a whirlwind of breath, sweat, growth, belly laughs, early mornings, ocean air, and those quiet moments where you suddenly realize…you’re surrounded by people who feel like home.

Community isn’t something you “find.”
It’s something that forms when hearts crack open together — on the mat, in satsang, over meals, through tears, and in all those tiny in-between moments where you choose to show up with love.

Strangers become soul family.
Practice becomes transformation.
And joy… real, uncomplicated JOY… becomes the natural state.

And if your heart is whispering for community, for growth, for that “I found my people” feeling… Join us at

Find your tribe.
Find yourself.

✨ “We’re not the same people who arrived here.”

It’s the final week for our November students, when the mat becomes a mirror, strangers become soul friends, and every asana opens not just your body but your heart. ❤️‍🔥

The plot twist? The transformation is only just beginning. 😌

Wishing them an inspiring week ahead. Om trayambakam. 🙏🏼🕉️

Before the sun was even thinking about rising, we accidentally became the “See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil” trio… plus one who’s clearly still negotiating with her spirit guides. 🤣

This is what happens at the ashram when discipline meets delirium and the morning bell rings before your brain does.

But honestly?
There’s a sweet teaching hiding under the silliness:

When you’re tired, when you’re stretched, when things get lost in translation… your practice shows you who you choose to be anyway.

Do you speak kindly?
Do you listen with compassion?
Do you look at the world with soft eyes?

Even before 6 AM?
Even when you’re running on bananas and bhakti alone?

This is the real yoga.
The yoga we live in between the chants and the asanas. The yoga that shows up on the steps outside the beach platform with your sisters, half-awake and fully human.

Grateful for the reminder that devotion doesn’t always look serious — sometimes it looks like four yogis trying to practice the yamas while still rubbing sleep out of their eyes.

Sometimes people look at my water bottle like,
“…girl… what is happening here?”
Stickers peeling, edges curling, half a butterfly clinging on for dear life. A whole scene.

But when I look at it?
I see love.

One of my sweetest students brings me a new sticker every time she sees me — tiny offerings of joy, handed to me with those bright eyes and that full heart. Over time, they’ve weathered travel bags, practice floors, airplane seats, Costa Rican humidity… and still, here they are.

Torn? Yes.
Tattered? Absolutely.
But isn’t that how devotion works?
Isn’t that how our relationships are built?
Not in the pristine moments — but in the lived-in ones.

This little bottle reminds me, every single day, that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be precious. Gratitude doesn’t have to be polished to be real. And joy? Joy shows up exactly like this — bright, imperfect, and offered freely.

May we all hold onto the things that remind us who we are and who we love,
even if the edges are peeling.

With a full and grateful heart… Thank you! 🙏🏼

Because of you — our students, our community, our family — Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts has once again been named Best Yoga Studio… and this year, also Best Fitness Studio.

This recognition isn’t about accolades. It’s a reflection that we are meeting the needs of our community we love so dearly. It tells us that what we’re offering — commUNITY & connection, steadiness, breath, presence, and a place to discover your true self.

To our beloved students: thank you for showing up for yourselves, and for weaving your heart into this community. Without you, there is no “us.”

To our DTY instructors: thank you for holding space with integrity, for teaching with care, and for aligning so beautifully with the mission of connection & community through yoga and healing arts. You help keep the flame glowing bright.

A Beautiful Morning of Devotion 🌸

Today we honored the Mahāsamādhi of Swami Vishnudevananda, the fearless Flying Swami & world teacher who carried Swami Sivananda’s light across oceans and into so many hearts.

This morning’s pūjā was tender and powerful—a celebration of a life lived entirely in service, and a reminder that the Guru never truly leaves. When a realized being attains Mahāsamādhi, it isn’t an ending. It is the soul’s conscious return to the Infinite, a merging with pure love itself.

Each chant, each offering of flame and flower, is our way of saying thank you—for the teachings that keep awakening us, for the discipline that keeps us steady, and for the devotion that keeps us connected beyond time and form.

May we walk this path with the same courage and compassion.

Om Bolo Shri Vishnudevananda Maharaj Ki Jai!

(May the glory of Swami Vishnudevananda be victorious.)

Serve. Love. Give. Purify. Meditate. Realize.
