❌ You should avoid the sun during peak hours of 10am - 2pm
❌ Always wear sunscreen with SPF of 30+
❌ A “base layer” or a slight tan is NOT healthy for your skin. Any amount of tan is actually a sign of sun damage.

Meet the team: Ansley ✨

Ansley is our sweet PA-C! She has been with Savannah River Dermatology for 7 years!

Her favorite part of her job is she says, “My patients. It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted to care for the skin, hair, and nails of the individuals and families I see; but also to get to know each person on a deeper level sharing life events including celebrations, joys, and sorrows.”

When she’s not making a difference in our skincare you can find Ansley spending quality time with her husband and two boys!

Do you know your ABC's? Melanoma is the most common and deadliest form of skin cancer in America. However, it is often highly treatable when detected early. Check your skin for signs of melanoma using the “ABC’s of Melanoma.” 🔍

A = Asymmetry;The spot presenting with one side looking notably different from the other.
B = Border; The spot has an irregular, poorly defined, or scalloped border
C = Color; The spot presents multiple colors.
D = Diameter; The spot is larger than 6 millimeters, about the size of a pencil eraser. (Although some can be smaller when initially diagnosed.)
E = Evolving; The spot looks different or is changing in size, shape, and color over time.

If you notice any changes in your skin, book your appointment to have them checked by your dermatologist.

Mohs Monday 🌟 Sometimes seemingly small basal cells can occupy a lot of skin without being very apparent to the naked eye. Mohs surgery allows the basal cell to be tracked using a microscope, ensuring that all margins are clear and giving a 99% cure rate.
