Our staff provide trauma informed care using evidence- based treatment interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, metacognitive therapy, Illness Management and Recovery, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and psychoeducation. The focus on therapeutic relationships and alliance as the primary tool to support and assist the patient is maintained through a tangible, patient-centered service delivery model. Students - Riverview Psychiatric Center provides educational opportunities for nursing, physician assistant, psychiatric nurse practitioner, social work interns for undergrad and graduate levels, psychology practicum students, substance abuse counselor students, and doctoral psychology students. Our psychology internship program is accredited by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). We recruit and select qualified interns from a national pool of candidates, including OT, RT, and rehab students.

Salary: $43.29 - $58.21 per hour

Minimum Qualifications: A Doctorate Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology and a minimum of 2 years of experience, one year of which may have been an internship.

Licensing Requirements:
Licensed (or license eligible) as a Psychologist as issued by the Maine State Board of Examiners in Psychology.

Salary: $24.29 - $33.84 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to co-occurring disorders or equivalent in directly related work experience AND two (2) years’ experience in co-occurring counseling. Education cannot be substituted for required two years’ experience in co-occurring counseling.

Licensing Requirements:
Licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor as issued by State Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors is also required. Preference will be given to those with a clinical license.
