👁️World Glaucoma Week | March 8-14, 2026👁️

This week we recognize World Glaucoma Week, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about glaucoma and the importance of early detection.

Glaucoma is often called the "silent thief of sight" because it can develop without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Left untreated, it can lead to permanent vision loss-but with routine eye exams, glaucoma can often be detected and managed before significant damage occurs.

Meet the staff Monday-Retirement edition!

✨Honoring two incredible nurses- Donna Ingham & Dawne Hagins ✨

Retirement isn’t just the end of the career - it’s the celebration of a legacy.

From early mornings in Pre-op, to steady hands in the OR… to laser Thursdays…. to laughter at team dinners…. Donna and Dawne have been the heart of so many surgery days at Augusta Eye Surgery.

Donna Ingham, RN, nursing since 1979 and part of our AES family since 2014, brought experience, calm leadership, and unwavering dedication as one of our trusted OR circulators.

Dawne Hagins, RN, with 36 years in nursing and serving AES since 2014, faithfully cared for patients in Pre-op and PACU and supported our laser program each week with compassion and excellence.

They’ve comforted nervous patients, supported their teammates, shared countless laughs, and helped shape the culture of our surgery center.

We are so grateful for the years, the commitment, and the friendships.

Donna and Dawne- thank you for everything. You will always be part of the AES family❤️

Meet the Augusta Eyewear Gallery Team- Stephanie, Angie and Penny!

Stephanie has been with Augusta Eye MD for little over a year, bringing 29 years of optical experience with her. When she’s not helping patients find the perfect frame, she enjoys spending time with her kids, and relaxing on beach vacations.🏖️

Angie joined Augusta Eye MD a year and a half ago and has an incredible 40 years in the optical field. When she’s not cutting lenses to fit your frames just right, she loves reading, crafting, shopping, going to the movies, and playing with her grandkids.

Penny has been part of Augusta Eye MD family for 5 years and has 36 years of experience. When she’s not helping patients achieve their best vision with glasses, she enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends at their river house.

That’s combined 105 years of experience in our optical team - wow! 🤩

Ashley joined Augusta Eye MD six months ago, bringing with her 10 years of experience in the optical field 🔬

She truly loves everything about eyes- especially refracting patients and helping them achieve their clearest vision by updating their eyeglasses prescriptions 👓

Ashley enjoys that every day brings something new and loves getting to meet so many different people. What she appreciates most about Augusta Eye MD is the supportive environment where she and her coworkers continue learning together - and where there’s always a smile to be found 😊

Meet Amanda!

Amanda has been part of Augusta Eye MD for 2 years, but her journey in the optical field began in 2008. She started with us in our Eyewear Gallery and, eager to expand her skills and knowledge, transitioned into a technician role.

When she’s not at work, Amanda enjoys shopping 🛍️ , cooking 🧑‍🍳, and decorating her home 🏡
