This Black Friday, shop with purpose.

At MaineGeneral, we're grateful for a community that shows up for one another.

Black Friday is a great opportunity to hunt for deals, and if you're looking for a meaningful way to give back some of those savings, an early GivingTuesday gift supports the care our friends, families and neighbors count on every day.

Thanks to a $20,000 match from Charlie & Nancy Shuman and a $5,000 match from Kennebec Savings Bank - $5 becomes $10; $20 becomes $40; $50 becomes $100! Making your GivingTuesday gift goes twice as far!

Give early. Double your impact. Strengthen local health care. give.mainegeneral.org/givingtuesday

We are so thankful for our staff and all that they do, day in and day out, to care for the community we call home.

Every day our nurses, surgeons, primary care physicians, housekeepers, dietitians, patient service representatives, medical assistants, physician associates and more answer the call to help others. You’ll also find hundreds more supporting them behind the scenes in departments like the laboratory, security, finance, HR and operations!

Without the dedication, expertise, strength and compassion of each and every one of our team members, MaineGeneral couldn’t deliver the quality of care that we pride ourselves on.

Thank you for all you do and happy Thanksgiving!

Save the Date: GivingTuesday is December 2!

For many families, MaineGeneral isn't just where we go for care: it's part of our story. From babies born here to generations working here, this health care system has shaped our community.

This year on GivingTuesday, you'll meet Trisha: a lifelong Mainer, business owner, MaineGeneral employee and someone whose family has counted on MaineGeneral through every chapter of their story. This GivingTuesday, you can stand alongside Trisha by making a gift to support local care. And thanks to our generous match sponsors, every dollar will be doubled - making your impact go twice as far for the community we call home. Thank you to our incredibly generous sponsors Charlie & Nancy Shuman ($20,000) and Kennebec Savings Bank ($5,000).

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, December 2, and join us in keeping compassionate local care here for generations to come - or you can give the gift of health early by making your gift today at give.mainegeneral.org/givingtuesday.

Congratulations to Allyson Macmillan, community health worker, on being awarded the MaineGeneral Excellence at Work Award. The Excellence at Work Award recognizes an employee or team that goes above and beyond to provide the best care and service to patients, families, coworkers and the community.

A community partner shared how Allyson made a meaningful difference for a client in crisis.

“Allyson collaborated to support a mutual client in need. After the client experienced an accident and was hospitalized, then transitioned to assisted living, Allyson stepped in to assist. She coordinated the move of the client’s belongings into storage, arranged for the donation of items that could not be kept, engaged community partners to help on moving day and ultimately helped the client relocate to live with family in another state.”

A colleague had this to say about her care:

“Allyson consistently demonstrates exceptional commitment, empathy and professionalism. She is hardworking, compassionate and deeply attuned to her clients’ needs, often transforming difficult situations into moments of reassurance and dignity. She is known for her empathy, hard work and genuine concern for her clients. She has an incredible ability to turn challenging moments into opportunities for care and connection, always ensuring that those she serves feel supported and valued.”

Congratulations, Allyson, on being awarded the MaineGeneral Excellence at Work Award! Your compassion and dedication inspire us all!
