Recovering from a total knee replacement isn’t easy, but the right plan (and consistency) makes all the difference.
This patient recently completed her rehab with us after a knee replacement, finishing strong around 12 weeks with excellent progress along the way. She showed up, put in the work, and stayed committed, even on the days she jokingly called it “torture.” 💪
One thing that helped drive her success? Access to the right equipment at the right time.
At Doctors of Physical Therapy in Augusta, our patients don’t just rehab on a treatment table, we integrate our on-site fitness center into care.
That means:
✔️ Progressing strength safely using machines (not just ankle weights)
✔️ Getting the right dosage and load for post-surgical recovery
✔️ Building confidence with equipment you can continue using independently
Even better - patients have access to the fitness center during their plan of care, making the transition from rehab to independent exercise seamless.
Our goal isn’t just to get you through rehab, it’s to set you up for long-term success.
If you’re preparing for surgery or currently recovering, we’re here to guide you every step of the way!

North Branch Broncos Student Athletes of the Month for March, presented by DPT-Lapeer!
Lily Hurd has had a great kick-start to her junior track season. She has been coming to conditioning since December to get ready for the season, and it has proved to be beneficial. In the first meet at the SVSU indoor invite, Lily ran the 400 dash with her second-best time, along with one of her best long jumps of her career as well. As a captain on the team, Lily is a “great athlete to coach.” Way to get the season started, Lily!
New to North Branch this year, boys' volleyball was able to begin in large part due to senior, Cruz Rodriguez. After he was sidelined in wrestling due to medical reasons, Cruz would continue to show up to practices to cheer on his teammates. He would continue to “show up” for volleyball by recruiting enough boys to form a full team. Cruz is now a six-position player, a co-captain, and a great leader on the court. NB is excited to see where boys' volleyball will go! Congratulations to this month’s Bronco student-athletes. DPT is proud!

Dryden Cardinals Student Athletes of the Month for March, presented by DPT-Lapeer!
A promising freshman, Ella Gustner, has been working hard in the off-season to prepare for her debut high school track season. Hard at work since December, she is already posting competitive marks across multiple distance events, including the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m. Ella has both natural ability and a strong commitment to improvement. She is consistent and dedicated, and puts in the effort without hesitation. Competing in the indoor track season has only allowed her to develop through the off-season, which will help her this spring. Ella has a great work ethic and focus, and when asked to step into an unfamiliar event or relay, she responds with a team-first mindset and a willingness to compete. These attributes are key components to hang on to, Ella! Keep up the great work!
Levi Fitchett, a sophomore in track, competed throughout the indoor track season. During that time, he achieved his personal best in the 800m dash, with a time of 2:10, and the 3200m run, with a time of 10:47. Levi had an outstanding cross-country season in the fall of 2025, which included qualifying for states. Along with the great performances during the indoor track season already, Levi is primed to have an excellent track season this spring. He shows up to practice putting his all into it and motivates his teammates to do better. Levi is one of the hardest working athletes at Dryden High School. His work ethic and leadership on the team will take him far. Way to go, Levi! Your friends at DPT are proud of you!
Congratulations, Cardinal athletes! DPT is happy to showcase you both this month!

This past January I set a hefty goal that I've contemplated doing for years, I signed up to compete in my first bikini bodybuilding competition. Like most people, I had made many excuses in the past why it wasn't the right time to pursue this interest. I 'm proud to say that I couldn't have made this dream come true without Dunamis Therapy & Fitness Center and its very own personal trainer, Lacey.
There are many ingredients that played a major role in my quest for fitness. I believe that Lacey helped prepare me for success by setting up consultations prior to my start date; where she walked me through the importance of meal prepping, organization, and time management. I left Dunamis Therapy & Fitness Center with the understanding that to make this work, I needed to hold myself accountable. I needed to meal prep on the weekends (this was a must, for my week to be successful). I needed to allot one to two and half hours of strength training and cardio, six days a week. I needed to understand that my bad sugar habits were going to be tough to break, but I had to be tough on myself. She warned me that the first couple of days were going to be rough but it will get easier mentally and physically. I was sore. I was hungry. And well, maybe, a bit crabby. Through every step of the way Lacey was always there to support me on my journey.
In addition, I really liked the app that she used to set up my workouts. This app allowed me to receive customized workouts, along with videos to help show me how to do an exercise. I connected my, "My Fitness Pal" account to it so that Lacey was able to monitor what I was logging on a daily basis. I was able to contact Lacey through this app or per text message. She was always prompt with support or feedback that I was seeking.
During my training, Lacey and I met on a regular basis to discuss how things were going struggles, strengths, and to measure my body composition —tracking the progress I was making. On a weekly basis, I weighed myself at home and took pictures that I shared with her, to continue monitoring my progress.
That being said, I feel that if you want results I whole-heartedly recommend Lacey for the job. She does a terrific job customizing a program suitable for your specific goals and you will get the results you are looking. Are you ready to take the next step?
Sincerely & forever grateful,
Carolyn Johnson
