Sue Spencer plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring clients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care in their homes. As a Quality Specialist with our Personal Support Services team, Sue oversees the care provided by PSS staff through regular in-home visits, observations, and ongoing training. From personal care support to everyday tasks like grocery shopping, Sue helps make sure services are delivered with professionalism, dignity, and heart.

One of Sueโ€™s biggest priorities is supporting PSS staff so they feel confident and well-prepared. By answering questions, offering guidance, and providing hands-on training when needed, she helps ensure staff are fully equipped to support consumers to the best of their ability.

Sue says the most meaningful part of her job is witnessing the connection between staff and consumers. Seeing a smile on a clientโ€™s face, knowing they feel safe, respected, and cared for, is what reminds her why this work matters. She also values the relationships built with caregivers and families, and the trust they place in the Bridges team.

Something many people may not realize is that PSS care goes far beyond daily tasks. Companionship is just as important as hands-on supportโ€”and Sue emphasizes how meaningful those moments of conversation, laughter, and shared memories can be for consumers.

Sue truly loves her work and describes it as the best job sheโ€™s ever had. Sheโ€™s proud to be part of Bridges and excited about the rebrand, which she sees as an opportunity to reintroduce Personal Support Services to the community and highlight the important role Bridges plays in helping people remain safely and happily in their homes.
