You might’ve grown up hearing that sitting too close to the TV will ruin your eyes—but science says that’s simply not true! There’s no evidence that screen distance causes permanent eye damage. This belief originated in the 1960s, when older televisions emitted small amounts of radiation. Modern screens, however, are completely safe.

Here’s what actually happens when you sit too close:

Your eyes work harder to focus, leading to temporary eye strain

You may notice dry eyes, mild headaches, or blurry vision

These symptoms disappear once you take a short break

So while it’s still a good idea to sit at a comfortable distance, rest assured—your screen habits aren’t causing long-term harm to your vision. 👀

🎨 Did you know? About 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women experience some form of color blindness. The main types include:

🔴 Deuteranopia – Difficulty telling reds, greens, browns, and oranges apart. This is the most common type.
🔵 Tritanopia – Trouble distinguishing blues from yellows and purples from greys. This type is rare.
⚫ Achromatopsia – Complete color blindness, with vision limited to shades of grey. This is very rare.
