❌ MYTH!
You may have heard that crossing your eyes will make them stay that way—but there’s no evidence to support this! While it’s not something you should do often, occasionally crossing your eyes won’t cause permanent damage.

The muscles that control eye movement are flexible and naturally return to their normal position once you stop. However, doing it too frequently can lead to eye strain, headaches, and temporary misalignment.

So while it’s harmless every now and then, it’s best not to make a habit of it. Keep your eyes comfortable and healthy by using them wisely! 👁️✨

✅ FACT!
Blue eyes contain less melanin than brown eyes. Melanin works like your eyes’ built-in sunglasses, helping filter bright light and harmful UV rays.

Less melanin = less natural protection = greater light sensitivity!

That’s why people with blue eyes often squint more in strong sunlight. 😎

So tell us—what color are your eyes? Do you notice your eyes are more sensitive to bright light?

❤️👁️ Show your eyes some love!

👓 Still noticing blurry vision even with your glasses? You could be dealing with astigmatism—a common condition caused by an unevenly shaped eye that can result in distorted vision, eyestrain, and frequent squinting.

The good news? Several effective treatments are available. Prescription lenses, refractive surgery, orthokeratology lenses, and corneal implants can all help improve clarity and restore comfortable vision.

If blurry vision is getting in the way, schedule an eye exam and explore the options that can help you see clearly again! 👁️✨

👁️ Noticed a red, swollen bump on your eyelid? It may be a hordeolum—an infection of the oil glands along the edge of the eyelid, most often caused by bacteria.

These tender bumps typically clear up on their own within 1–2 weeks and usually don’t affect your vision. To help speed the healing process, try:
🔸 Warm compresses to promote natural drainage
🔸 Gentle massage and lid scrubs to keep the area clean

Antibiotic drops or oral medications rarely make a difference, since the infection sits deep within the gland where medicine can’t easily reach.

However, if redness and swelling last more than a few weeks—or if you notice increasing pain or vision changes—see one of our optometrists right away for proper diagnosis and treatment options.

Most hordeolums simply need a little patience and gentle care to resolve naturally.

🌈 Did you know? Not everyone sees color the same way!
Your color vision fits into one of these unique categories:

👁️ Dichromats – About 25% of people. With two color receptors, they see fewer than 20 colors and often gravitate toward muted tones like black, beige, and blue.
👁️ Trichromats – Around 50% of people. The most common type, with three receptors, allowing them to see 20–32 colors.
👁️ Tetrachromats – Roughly 25% of people. With four receptors, they can distinguish 33–39 colors! They typically dislike yellow and are less easily tricked by color optical illusions.

So next time you’re debating whether that dress is blue & black or white & gold, remember—someone else might truly be seeing something different! 👗✨
