I still remember my very first day of residency, walking into the hospital with my long white coat on, terrified. I felt like an imposter, certain everyone could tell I had no idea what I was doing. That day was 10 years ago. And guess what? I made it through. Then I made it through the next day, and the week after that. Residency is hard. You won’t know everything and you’re not supposed to. It’s OK if you have to look up the Tylenol dose (it’s 650–1000 mg PRN, by the way). It’s OK to ask questions. It’s OK to feel overwhelmed. With time, hard work, and the support of your co-residents, faculty and family, you will start to feel like you belong. Because you do. To all the new interns… welcome. You are not alone. You’ve earned your place here, and you’re going to grow into an incredible physician. One day at a time. 💪🏼✨

Some days being a mom and a doctor takes everything out of me and today was one of those days. Bath + ice cream just felt right.

Breastfeeding is beautiful and natural but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Whether you’re a first-time mom or doing this again, here are some tips to help you through: ✨ Get Comfy Once baby is latched and settled, relax your shoulders. Find a position that supports your back and arms. I learned this the hard way… if you don’t, you’ll end up sore from all the awkward angles. ✨ It’s Okay to Feel Frustrated You’re learning. Baby is learning. Some days are tough. Give yourself grace. You’re doing something amazing but it’s hard. ✨ Vitamin D for Baby Breastfed babies need extra vitamin D. Talk to your pediatrician about a daily supplement. ✨ Feed (or Pump) Often Newborns nurse every 2–3 hours. If you’re pumping, aim for the same schedule to build and maintain your supply. ✨ Supplementing? Pump Too! If you give formula but your goal is to exclusively breastfeed, pump every time you supplement. Your body needs that signal to keep making milk because it’s all supply and demand. ✨ Use the Tools Ni**le shields, triple feeds, lactation consultants all exist to help you. If you’re struggling, ask for help. You are not alone. ✨ Ni**le Care Matters Soothe soreness with lanolin or a ni**le butter. Take care of yourself so you can keep going. 💗 You’ve got this. One feed at a time. One day at a time. Ps-enjoy this beautiful sunflower from my garden. :)

There’s something truly special about finishing a surgery that helped truly helped someone. Endometrial ablation is one of those procedures that can be absolutely life-changing. Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure where we destroy (ablate) the lining of the uterus to dramatically reduce or stop menstrual bleeding. 🙌 Pros: ✅ Can significantly reduce or stop periods altogether ✅ Quick recovery (usually back to normal in a few days) ✅ No major incisions ✅ Great option for women who are done with childbearing and are struggling with heavy bleeding ⚠️ Cons: ➖ Not a form of birth control (pregnancy afterward is very dangerous) ➖ Some women may eventually need a hysterectomy if bleeding returns ➖ Risks (though uncommon) include infection, bleeding, or injury to surrounding organs If you have severe, heavy periods that disrupt your life i.e. soaking through pads, missing work, feeling exhausted… this procedure could be a turning point. Today I got to help someone step into a future with less pain, less bleeding, and more freedom. 💪🏽✨ 👉 Curious if endometrial ablation might be right for you? Talk to your GYN about your options. You deserve to live without heavy bleeding weighing you down.

The behind the scenes side of medicine: finishing notes, reviewing labs, returning patient messages is tedious, but necessary. But, as a I still have to find time for it while prioritizing the time I get with my babies.
