Good Nature Therapy Services is pediatric clinic offering pediatric Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and Occupational Therapy (OT) to empower children and their families in the greater Cleveland area. We also offer group therapy sessions to enhance growth and development. Halloween can be exciting and overwhelming-here are a few ways to make it fun and comfortable for everyone:

Use social stories to walk through what will happen during trick-or-treating.
Create visual supports like simple schedules or checklists to help with transitions.
If costumes feel uncomfortable, character pajamas are a perfect alternative!
Take a practice walk of your route before Halloween night.
Talk about what to expect-lights, sounds, and all of the "trick-or-treat" moments.

Every child deserves a Halloween that feels safe, joyful, and just right for them.

We are updating the garden and have some perennial plants that need new homes! These plants are FREE but we are collecting non-perishable food for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank if you are able to donate!

WHAT: FREE PLANTS for a non-perishable food donation
WHERE: Good Nature Therapy Services- 239 E. Garfield Rd. Aurora Ohio
WHEN: Saturday, November 1st from 1-3 PM- we will post on social media if all plants are gone prior to 3:00
HOW: Drop off your donation in the box, enter through the side gate, and grab plants you are interested in!

We have a limited number of: Lamb’s Ear, English Lavender, Purple Cornflower, Garden Phlox, Red Hot Poker, Bearded Iris, Oregano, Woodland Sage, Stonecrop, Lady’s Mantle,Purplestem Angelica, and Desert Bloom to gift!

These plants are all perennials and should be planted immediately

🐛A wooly bear caterpillar is the larval stage of the Isabella tiger moth! 🦋

🐛Legend says the wider the brown band on a woolly bear, the milder the winter. Scientists say it’s more about age than weather — but it’s still fun folklore!

🐛Woolly bears survive freezing temps by producing a natural antifreeze — they can literally freeze solid and thaw out in spring!

🐛These little fuzzballs are harmless to touch, though their bristles can feel a bit prickly.

We are so excited for Halloween Practice Week next week at Good Nature Therapy Services!

In client sessions, if participating, we will be working on skills involved in all things Halloween!

This includes but is not limited to:

🎃Pragmatic language
🎃Digit isolation
🎃Sequencing
🎃Impulse control
🎃Safety awareness
🎃Flexible thinking
🎃Reciprocal language
🎃Self regulation
🎃Executive functioning..and many more!

All clients and their caregivers will practice skills, have fun, and leave with some helpful tips, ideas on how to stay safe, social stories, communication bracelets and treats that they gathered!
