Clients come to me because they have a problem that they cannot solve or they are unhappy or feel stuck. I analyze the issues to determine which patterns are in play and then I make concrete suggestions on how to alter the patterns, usually by making very small changes. You can only change your own behavior, but those changes will affect the interactions you have with others and that will completely change the relationship dynamic.

I help clients figure out how to be happier and how to increase their self-esteem. You are responsible for your own mental happiness and you are not responsible for the happiness of others! I also work on changing negative patterns of thinking by paying attention to the little voice in your head and also by reframing. I believe that our thoughts contribute to our feelings and therefore we can feel better by changing how we think about things.

I'm a direct and practical problem solver who happens to be extremely creative and analytical with a high IQ. I most enjoy working with clients similar to me. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist trained in the Systems Approach. I use aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy in addition to many of my own concepts that work exceptionally well! I can paint a vivid mental picture of your situation and describe it using creative analogies so we have a new shared language with which to explore the problem.
