SPARC Chiropractic

SPARC Chiropractic We are the top ranked Chiropractic clinic for the towns of Aurora and Brookfield S.P.A.R.C. Chiropractic Philosophy. At S.P.A.R.C. Here at S.P.A.R.C.

Chiropractic, our philosophy is to build a working relationship with patients by educating and coaching them to eliminate and prevent pain, while maximizing the body’s full movement potentials. We strive to empower individuals to take a more active role in the restoration, preservation, and optimization of their own health. We accomplish these goals through our slogan, “MOVEMENT AS MEDICINE”. Today as a result of convenience, people sit far too long at work, home or in their cars, and simply don’t move enough. Inactivity, poor posture, faulty movement patterns, and obesity are major leading causes of pain, dysfunction, and poor health. It is our goal for our patients to understand the connection between pain and poor movement, or the lack of it. By combining chiropractic treatments, functional movement exercises, and healthy eating habits we are able to maximize the body’s potential to heal itself. CHIROPRACTIC
In a world where prescription medications and surgery are too often the first options offered to patients, many are instead seeking “alternative methods” shown to work effectively with minimal to no side effects. Chiropractic uses Chiropractic Manipulation Therapy (CMT), or “the adjustment,” to help assist with our other natural treatment protocols to restore, preserve and optimize patient health. CMT is a natural, safe and cost effective treatment which we fully stand behind. Chiropractic, we take research seriously. We specialize in Evidence-based Practice (EBP), which is at the forefront of the medical research paradigm today. EBP research has quantitatively proven that chiropractic manipulation can:
• benefit the body’s healing response at the cellular level
• decrease pain
• loosen muscles
• increase joint range of motion
• increase blood circulation
• increase nerve conduction throughout the body

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN & FUNCTIONAL EXERCISES
Functional movements are defined as everyday movements involved in a person’s daily activities. Leading chiropractic physicians are no longer simply spine or back doctors. They have expanded their expertise to using scientifically proven methods to assess the whole kinetic chain instead of one individual region in order to uncover the root cause of the patient’s pain. This assessment is performed through functional movement screens, a protocol used to target specific faulty movement patterns. Left uncorrected, these faulty movement patterns can reduce the body’s full capability to thrive in activities of daily living and lead to injury or chronic pain. Based on our assessment, we will develop a unique, functional exercise program to address each patient’s needs. MASSAGE
With multiple licensed massage therapists on staff, massage therapy is one of the adjunct treatments we provide to help patients attain wellness and improve their health. Research shows that massage benefits include, but are not limited to: healing injuries, recovery from exercise, and reducing stress, pain, muscle tension, anxiety and headaches. ACUPUNCTURE
Traditionally an eastern medicine treatment, acupuncture is utilized by many western practitioners today. Now backed by numerous amounts of research for it’s effectiveness, acupuncture is used to help heal all sorts of disease and injury, including strains and sprains, back pain, addiction, anxiety, and upper respiratory infections, to name a few. It is said that when one’s chi, or “life force,” is blocked, the result is the manifestation of disease or injury. Acupuncture is used to tap into channels or meridians throughout the body by stimulating specific points that help the natural flow of the chi. Chiropractic we use a blend of eastern and western teachings to help complement our patients’ treatment protocol. NUTRITION COUNSELING
Nutrition is the foundation of optimal healthy living. With so many burdens affecting healthy, clean eating these days, choosing the right foods can be confusing. Here at S.P.A.R.C we believe in educating patients on diet and the healing properties of food so they can make informed decisions for themselves and their families. 🤕 Struggling with headaches that won’t go away? If neck tension is the cause, over-the-counter meds might only give temporary relief.

A recent study compared various treatments and found that non-drug approaches, specifically those combining hands-on chiropractic care with active lifestyle strategies, were the most effective at reducing pain intensity and frequency.🏃‍♂️💆‍♀️

💡 The Takeaway: Simply masking the pain doesn’t fix the root cause. Treating your neck and improving overall movement works better!

🏋️‍♂️ Strength training can be safe and beneficial for young adults when done the right way.

With proper guidance, good technique, and smart progressions, lifting can help build strength, support overall health, and reduce injury risk. The key is focusing on form, gradual increases, and enough recovery time.

Starting slow and learning the basics sets the foundation for long-term success, not just quick gains.

Have you tried every chair and desk setup but still dealing with low back pain?

It might not be just your posture or workstation. A recent study found that fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety, and nighttime pain were also strongly linked to how disruptive low back pain feels. 😴

Managing back pain at work goes beyond ergonomics. Your energy, sleep quality, stress, and daily pain patterns all play a big role. ⚡

🦶 Not all heel pain is the same.

Many people assume heel pain automatically means plantar fasciitis, but that’s not always the case. Different types of heel pain can feel similar, yet come from very different causes.

Why does this matter? Because the right treatment depends on the right diagnosis. What helps one type of heel pain may not help another at all.

👉 Check out this infographic to learn the key differences and see what might be driving your heel pain. https://chiroup.short.gy/wnvDUb

🤯 What if your back pain isn’t caused by “tight” muscles?

We’ve all been there, your back hurts, so you try to stretch it out. But if stretching isn’t giving lasting relief, there’s a reason.

A recent study found that people with chronic low back pain had less stiffness in a deep back muscle, the quadratus lumborum, than those without pain.

Pain doesn’t always mean a muscle is too tight. Often, the muscle is underactive or does not adequately support your spine. Stretching a muscle that’s already loose or weak could make things worse.

At our clinic, we look beyond the “tight” feeling to see what’s really happening. Sometimes the solution isn’t more stretching, it’s more stability and targeted strength. 💪

🌀 Is your neck pain changing the way you walk?

It might sound strange, but your neck plays a big role in your balance and coordination.

Research shows that people with chronic neck pain often exhibit greater variability in their walking patterns, especially when multitasking or turning their heads. Your nervous system has to work harder just to keep you steady.

When your neck is stiff or painful, it sends “fuzzy” signals to your brain, making movement feel less smooth and less confident. By improving neck function, we help your nervous system communicate better so you can move with ease.

😬 Do you experience jaw clicking, facial tension, or “mysterious” headaches? You may have been told to use a mouthguard, but that’s often just one piece of the puzzle.

Recent studies show that non-invasive care, including hands-on treatment and exercises, can be very effective for reducing orofacial pain. Your jaw and upper neck work together as a single system, so treating just the jaw might miss the root cause.

A thorough assessment of neck movement and muscle coordination can guide much more effective care. Book an appointment with us today, and we’ll help you find lasting relief from tension and discomfort!

🏃‍♂️ Can running really help chronic low back pain?

A recent study says yes, especially for the mental side of pain. Adults with chronic low back pain who did a gradual run–walk program for 12 weeks saw improvements in mood, stress, and how much they worried about their pain. They were less likely to expect the worst, even if anxiety itself didn’t change much. 🧠

The takeaway: movement like running may help change how pain is experienced, not just how the back feels physically.

📈 Ever heard of the 10% rule?

It’s one of the simplest ways to avoid setbacks when returning to activity.

The idea is simple: don’t increase your activity by more than about 10% per week above what your body is used to. So if you normally walk 10 minutes, try 11 next time — not 20.

Whether you’re coming back from an injury or starting a new workout, doing too much too soon can overload your body. Small, steady increases give your muscles, joints, and nervous system time to adapt safely.

The goal isn’t to do more as fast as possible — it’s to progress without flare-ups.

👉 Check out this infographic to see how the 10% rule can help you stay active, build capacity, and avoid unnecessary setbacks. https://chiroup.short.gy/TMQ3OG

Is your chronic pain affecting your blood pressure? 🤔

It might sound surprising, but your spine and your heart are more connected than you think.

New research shows that people with ongoing back, neck, or head pain have a higher risk of developing high blood pressure. This link often comes from inflammation and mood changes, which can follow chronic pain like a shadow.

When you address your pain, you’re not just helping your joints; you’re supporting your whole cardiovascular system.

Focusing on movement, stress reduction, and pain management can help lower long-term health risks and improve overall well-being. 🌿

🌀 Not all cases of vertigo respond the same way.

The most common cause of vertigo (BPPV) usually resolves quickly with a simple repositioning maneuver. But for some people, the dizziness lingers or keeps coming back.

Why? Sometimes sleep plays a role. Research shows that people with poor sleep may experience longer-lasting dizziness and less complete relief after their first treatment. 😴

The good news: we can help address both.

✔️ Precise repositioning maneuvers to treat the root cause
✔️ Guidance on sleep habits that may support recovery

Check out this infographic for more info on BPPV. https://chiroup.short.gy/vJMpJ7
