HAPPY NATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY!

Today, we celebrate the doctors who help people see the world more clearly and live more fully.

On National Doctor's Day, we recognize the dedication, expertise, and impact of optometrists and vision rehabilitation doctors everywhere.

These are the professionals who look beyond 20/20…
who understand that vision is more than eyesight…
and who change lives every single day.

From helping a child succeed in the classroom…
to guiding recovery after brain injury…
to restoring confidence and independence…

✔️ You make the invisible visible
✔️ You turn frustration into progress
✔️ You change lives in ways that truly matter

Today is about appreciationand sometimes, appreciation can take action.

Any time is the right time to give the gift of an OVDRA membership.

Whether you’re:

✔️ Thanking a colleague or referral partner
✔️ Supporting a new therapist or team member
✔️ Celebrating a newly certified professional
✔️ Investing in someone with potential

A gift membership is more than a gesture it’s an investment in growth, connection, and the future of our profession.

Once initiated, the International Office will guide you through payment options, and if the recipient is already a member, their benefits will simply be extended for another year.

And for our students and residents:

We proudly offer a free membership tier. If you’d like to support them, consider donating to programs like the Vision Grant or SAFE Fund helping the next generation continue this important work.

March is coming to a close… but Brain Injury Awareness shouldn’t. 💙

A brain injury can change how a person sees, processes, and interacts with the world, often in ways that aren’t immediately visible.

Blurred vision.
Double vision.
Difficulty focusing.
Light sensitivity.
Visual motion sensitivity.

These challenges are common…and often overlooked.

As Brain Injury Awareness Month wraps up, it’s a reminder that these struggles don’t end on March 31, and neither should our awareness.

The good news? There is help.

Doctors trained in vision rehabilitation understand how to evaluate and treat the visual consequences of brain injury, helping patients regain function, confidence, and quality of life.

✔️ Comprehensive visual evaluations
✔️ Individualized treatment plans
✔️ Real-world functional improvement

If you or someone you know is still struggling after a concussion or brain injury, now is the time to take the next step.

👉 Find a doctor near you: https://locate.covd.org/

Because recovery is possible — and the right care makes all the difference.
