The midwives at the Center for Midwifery are experts in normal pregnancy and birth with a focus towards natural, healthy aspects of women and families. We offer a holistic approach to care incorporating support, guidance and expert midwifery skills during your pregnancy, labor, and birth. Our goal is to provide a safe, satisfying, and joyful experience through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. We are here to support your wishes for an ideal pregnancy and birth experience. We offer a high touch, personalized focus where we are present with you during your labor. The midwives at the Center for Midwifery are also able to assist you with complementary modalities including massage, acupuncture, chiropractic services, childbirth education, and lactation consultation at University of Colorado Hospital. Our practice is also very unique as we offer a hospital based water birth option. HOUSKEEPING

Can midwifery-led care lower the chances of a C-section?

CU College of Nursing Jessica Anderson DNP, CNM, WHNP, FACNM, and Denise C. Smith, PhD, CNM teamed up with researchers from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the University of Washington to find out. They found midwives play a key role in improving birth outcomes — including fewer unplanned cesarean births.

Exciting news coming from CU College of Nursing! The college is expanding midwifery education with a new Master of Science in Midwifery program: https://zurl.co/AnWYT

The program was approved by the CU Board of Regents and is designed for students without a nursing degree to become midwives. We are thrilled to see CU Nursing working to make the profession more accessible and to increase access to midwifery care.

The University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing is expanding its midwifery education a new master of science in midwifery program.
