Over the weekend, we came together at the Meyer Ballroom in downtown Aurora for our 5th Annual Family First Staff Recognition Event to celebrate the incredible people who make our work possible. 💙

Our staff is the heart of everything we do, and we are beyond grateful for their dedication to serving our organization and the clients who rely on us. As a nonprofit, this work simply wouldn’t be possible without their compassion, commitment, and care.

We were proud to recognize team members celebrating 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year anniversaries, as well as our annual employee awards based on our agency’s core values. These awards are especially meaningful because each recipient was nominated and voted on by their peers through our employee recognition program.

Congratulations to our 2026 award winners:
✨ Client Service Award: Trish Hibben
✨ Above and Beyond Award: Michelle Diaz
✨ Mission Possible Award: Kyle Kothera
✨ Under the Radar Award: Niki Patel
✨ People Leader Award: Magally Zavala

Your hard work and commitment inspire us every day. Thank you to our entire team for all you do for our clients and our community.

✨ Thank you, West Aurora School District 129! ✨

We loved being back as a Wellness Series Partner during student lunch periods today (February 4th). Our team enjoyed connecting with students, answering questions, and sharing information about the counseling and support services FCS offers.

This time, students shared their thoughts on “When I’m stressed, one thing that actually helps is…” and their responses were thoughtful, honest, and inspiring. 💛

At FCS, we’re here to help teens build confidence, navigate challenges, and access the support they need to thrive. We’re grateful for continued opportunities to partner with WAHS in support of student wellness.

“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

At Family Counseling Service, service is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in meeting individuals and families with compassion, dignity, and care, and in strengthening our community through meaningful support.

Today, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by reflecting on the power of service and our shared responsibility to care for one another.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our offices are closed today. We will reopen tomorrow during normal business hours.
