This is beautifully said by Aurora in Black, and we are so grateful to see Quintin’s impact recognized in our community.

We are incredibly proud to have Quintin as part of the Family Counseling Service team. His dedication to serving Aurora reflects exactly what our mission is all about. We meet people where they are with compassion, dignity, and meaningful support.

The pantry initiative is a powerful example of his heart for others and his commitment to meeting real needs. It represents the kind of care that extends beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

It is team members like Quintin who bring our mission to life each day. We are grateful to be part of this community and even more grateful for leaders like Quintin who continue to uplift it. ❤️

The first day of spring is a reminder that change is possible.

As the days get longer and the world begins to feel a little lighter, it’s a good time to check in with yourself. How are you really doing?

Just like nature, our mental health can shift with the seasons. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a reset, small steps can make a big difference.

You don’t have to do it alone. Support is here when you need it.

If you’ve been feeling more anxious lately, you’re not alone. Many people are experiencing increased stress, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm.

Anxiety can affect your sleep, focus, relationships, and overall well-being, but you don’t have to manage it by yourself. Therapy can help you understand your anxiety, develop coping tools, and regain a sense of calm and control.

Big news for Aurora students and families! 🎉

If you haven't heard already, Family Counseling Service has launched ONE Aurora, a coordinated initiative with West Aurora School District 129 and East Aurora School District 131 to bring mental health services directly into schools.

This initiative helps:
✨ Increase access to culturally responsive mental health care
✨ Remove barriers by offering services during the school day
✨ Promote collaboration between students, families, and school staff
✨ Help students access the least restrictive level of care, often avoiding hospitalization and reducing disruption for families

Together, we are strengthening school communities across Aurora.

Sometimes the smallest ideas grow into something truly meaningful.

Last year, Quintin Ingram, who is one of our therapists at Family Counseling Service, had an idea: create a small pantry at our Aurora office where staff could access food or clothing items for clients who may need a little extra support.

What started as a simple cabinet quickly filled up as staff and board members generously donated items.

That’s when Mario Velazquez, our Facilities Maintenance Tech, stepped in and built a dedicated closet space to organize everything. Now the donations are neatly hung and placed on shelves, making it easy for our team to walk clients to the closet and offer a food item, toy, or clothing when it’s needed.

This small but thoughtful resource allows our staff to support clients in a respectful and dignified way.

We’re grateful to Quintin for the idea, Mario for bringing it to life, and everyone who continues to donate and support our community.

We’re proud to announce the launch of ONE Aurora, a citywide partnership expanding access to school-based mental health services for students across Aurora.

Through our collaboration with West Aurora School District 129 and East Aurora School District 131, Family Counseling Service is now providing:

âś” On-site school-based counseling
âś” Mobile crisis intervention
âś” Preventative wellness programming
âś” Culturally responsive mental health support

So far this school year, more than 350 students across both districts have been positively impacted.

By bringing care directly into schools, ONE Aurora removes barriers such as transportation and scheduling, making it easier for students and families to receive support in a familiar, trusted environment.
