🏡 At Garden Plaza, we're blessed with friendly, sociable residents who go out of their way to make newcomers feel at home. For those with an extra spark of outgoing spirit, we have our Resident Ambassador Program! These volunteers offer orientation tours, accompany newcomers to meals, and serve as a social resource as folks settle in. 😊

Meet Dick Rix, the program's leader! Dick is from Chicago and has lived here for a year and a half. 🗨️ "My kids brought me out here, found the place for me, and everything," Dick said. "I'm glad they did."

Dick likes to keep busy, and not only is he a Resident Ambassador, but he also leads games, including OH Hell! and Spinners. His advice for folks considering senior living is, "The mind needs variety to keep strong, and you have to strengthen your brain. You may get old physically, but you've still got the brain to think about!" 🧠

We're so fortunate to have Dick with us—he's a great friend and an inspiring leader among our residents. Thanks for taking a moment to get to know him and celebrate him with us! 💛

🎭 A Magical Sunday at the Theater! 🦁✨ Residents, family members, and staff enjoyed an unforgettable outing to the Buell Theatre in downtown Denver to experience the spectacular Broadway production of The Lion King. With over 30 participants, the day was filled with music, laughter, and memorable moments shared together. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special adventure! 🌟

At Century Park, we believe the most meaningful way to show our appreciation for our teams is by standing beside them—working hand in hand to support the incredible service they provide every day.

Service Day is a time when Century Park leadership partners with associates in a selected department at our communities around the country in caring for the residents they serve. Through this act of service, we strengthen our teams and build even stronger relationships with our team members.

Today, our leadership team and sales teams are joining forces with our community partners for a special Sales Service Day dedicated to honoring and supporting local veterans. Together, we’ll be reaching out to veteran groups, attending local events, and inviting veterans to learn more about the supportive environments our communities offer. Whether it's through hosting informational sessions, delivering care packages, or simply saying thank you, we’re proud to stand alongside those who have served.

Welcome to Kitchen Corner, a spotlight for dining delights from Garden Plaza of Aurora!

In November, we are excited to feature seasonal apples. We will be working some of these into the menu selections as a main ingredient, as these are at peak of season: Fuji, Granny Smith and Braeburn.

Look forward to comforting favorites like Warm Apple Cobbler, a refreshing Fruit and Nut Salad, and our Signature Apple Pancake.

Skills Camp – Thursday, October 30
On Thursday, October 30, our team came together for a Skills Camp focused on growth, teamwork, and professional development. The camp provided an opportunity for associates to strengthen essential skills, share best practices, and collaborate across departments. Through hands-on activities and group discussions, team members built confidence, improved communication, and explored new ways to enhance the quality of care and service we provide every day. It was inspiring to see everyone’s enthusiasm and commitment to continuous improvement. A big thank you to all who participated and helped make the event such a productive and motivating experience!

Annual Skills Camp at Garden Plaza of Aurora
Our community had a blast at our annual Skills Camp this year, with departments coming together to offer insights and growth opportunities to all who joined. Each station represented both a department AND a part of our growth track, from Wellness all the way to Intentional Living. Complete with candy, fun décor, and some creative costumes, both residents and staff had a great time together while honing skills and learning more about our community values.
