“BREAKING WEATHER REPORT – Chicagoland Edition. Meteorologist Aria here reporting live!

Yesterday’s forecast:
• Wind trying to steal your ears
• Rain and hail coming in sideways
• General chaos

Today’s forecast:
• Still wet and rainy nonsense
• Wind attempting to relocate small dogs
• Snow?! Whose idea was this

STILL unacceptable!

I have declared a state of indoor emergency. Stay inside, eat snacks, remain in your beds and blankets, and only go outside if well compensated with treats.

Back to you in studio!”

French Bulldogs and animal chiropractic go together like peanut butter and jelly. 🥜🍓

Frenchies are lovable little tanks… but their unique structure also puts a lot of stress on their spine. Their compact bodies, screw tails, and frequent vertebral malformations make them one of the breeds most prone to spinal issues and disc injuries.

Gentle chiropractic care helps restore proper motion to the spine and joints, supports healthy nervous system function, and helps reduce stress along the spine.

For many Frenchies, regular chiropractic care can be an important part of protecting their spine and keeping them comfortable and mobile throughout their lives.

Honestly, animal chiropractors and Frenchies might just be BFFs. 😆

And the Frenchies in this photo? Their humans are both chiropractors… so spinal health is kind of a big deal in their family. 💙

I watched the first video of my own dog, Jett, the day after filming it and noticed his left rear movement, including a noticeable “stomp” on that side too. I checked his pelvis and hip... sure enough, he was restricted in left hip range of motion and right pelvic glide.

You would have never guessed there was a “problem” as he is an all out 5 month pup... but just adjusting pelvis and left hip made him more fluid, no more stomp on the rear left, and finished the rotation around in 3 seconds faster. I did also adjust C1 and head motion looks better too.

Can you see the difference?! 👀

Jett is just a puppy working hind end awareness... think what better fluid motion and faster time can do for any high level sport dog...!

In a pet dog, think about what doing everyday activities with a restricted hip will do over time. Abnormal movement in the joint leads to abnormal wear leads to inflammation which leads to degenerative changes.

Kirby is an 11 year old foster with Collie Rescue of Greater IL, Inc. whose care is generously sponsored by Lizzy's Fund. She began care after showing significant stiffness, especially in her hips, and having difficulty getting up and navigating stairs.

As we started care, it became clear that her hip issues were most likely chronic compensatory changes stemming from a left shoulder injury. Her left shoulder was nearly fixated and was extremely painful, so much so that she cried out and nearly lost her balance during examination at her first visit. Prior to rescue, she had been living outside during the day and in a garage at night.

Her hip range of motion has improved dramatically, from about 30–40% to 95%. Her hips look great on x-ray, especially for an 11 year old, which means we don’t have to worry about degenerative changes complicating her recovery.

She now also has normal, pain free range of motion in her left shoulder.

Kirby received weekly chiropractic care combined with laser therapy to her left shoulder and neck for five weeks. We have now transitioned to chiro care alone at every two weeks, with the goal of continuing to increase the time interval while maintaining her progress.

Watching her regain comfort, mobility, and quality of life has been incredibly rewarding. She is well on her way to truly enjoying her golden years. 🩷

Meet Reacher!

Reacher is a 4 year old German Shepherd. Prior to his initial adjustment, for 6 weeks he was unable to urinate on his own. He was taking an anti-inflammatory medication as well as a med to help with his urinary retention. If he was taken off the medications he would once again be unable to urinate on his own.

He showed a major improvement after his first adjustment and was able to urinate on his own without any meds! Occasionally he would have a day or two when he needed the meds to urinate, but with consistent adjustments Reacher has been officially med free for the past 2 weeks with no urinary issues! His appetite has also increased and he is acting more like his usual self!

"The beauty about chiropractic is the fact that it works with natural means. It puts nothing new into the body, nor does it take away any natural gland or organ. Chiropractic simply releases life forces within the body, sets free rivulets of energy over nerves, and let's nature do her work in a normal manner." —BJ Palmer, developer of chiropractic

Dr. Erin O’Connor (owner of Vitality) and Dr. Cat Reczek both offer animal chiropractic care. Animal chiropractic care Dr. Erin sees dogs, cats, exotics, and wildlife. Dr. Cat sees small animals at Vitality and also travels twice a week for large animal patients.
