Had a follower make this comment recently and I followed up for the source. Not sure how I missed this article last year, but SUPER interesting! A review of genetics and CAS by Morgan and colleagues found that approximately 1 in 3 children with CAS have an identifiable genetic variant linked to their condition. The researchers recommend genetic testing for all those diagnosed with CAS.

In case histories for CAS, it’s frequently reported the child as a baby was “quiet” with little to no babbling. If you suspect CAS, it’s important to get early intervention using an approach for suspected CAS.
