Tis the season for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)!
SAD occurs typically in the wintertime and is identified by symptoms such as low mood, low motivation, loss of interest, and more. Many in the Midwest are affected by SAD due to fewer hours of sunlight and cold, dark days throughout our winter. You may have noticed a big symptom change over the last couple days of sun and warmth.
While this warm spell is likely short lived (considering it’s still February..), taking time to get outside, spend time with others, exercise, meeting with your therapist and more can help to beat the winter blues while we wait for summer to come around.
