Happy Earth Day from your friends at CAI! We spent some time today cleaning up garbage around campus and leaving our decorated Friendship Rocks to spread a happy message to any people who find them. Life is Good at CAI!

What a great night of inclusion and entrepreneurship! Our clients took part in the Cafe 1888 Art Show and did a great job greeting guests, explaining how they made each piece, and suggestively selling their creations. Lots of shaking hands, introductions, and eye contact-- all of which added up to great sales for our group! Now we have to vote on where we take our fun trip to spend our profits!

Tonight is the night! Come to Cafe 1888 Art Show, Featuring CAI art and craft works! Hope to see you there!

Happy Easter from all of us at the Center for Achieving Independence! This week we hosted our friends at Bardwell Residences for a cupcake decorating party. Our clients baked mini-cupcakes and set up a decorating station-- helping our senior friends decorate cupcakes for them to enjoy! We love being out in the community, and this opportunity gives us a chance to practice good social skils. A yummy time was had by all!

Wondering why CAI's programming is so important to our clients? The word purposeful comes to mind. Here are just a few of our recent community workshops, where our clients learned about different job and volunteering opportunities.

Thanks to Curtis Spivey at The Neighbor Project, Joel Friend at Paramount Theatre and Lynn Piotrowski at the Fox Valley Park District for helping our clients see all the amazing opportunities in Aurora. You all help make our clients' future more bright!

Photos of our roll play games. We draw scenarios about interviewing questions or situations that might happen on the job, and work through them together. As a team, we learn about how to interview well and how to give our best efforts at work.
