Cooking and kitchen safety are important skills. Plus, who doesn't love homemade tacos? We do! Our clients measured, sautéed, chopped, and even made homemade guacamole! And then it was time to enjoy our hard work. YUM!!

Thanks so much to the amazing staff at All Pets Wellness Centers in Aurora for hosting CAI for our latest Employment Exploration Workshop! We learned so much about the skills necessary to work with dogs, and had the best time meeting some sweet pups! Welcome to CAI Cafe!
Clients learned about the skills needed to perform different jobs at a restaurant and decided to create their own. We planned a menu, shopped for items, and completed all kitchen prep and cooking. Then, we invited guests from Bardwell Residences, a local senior community, to join us for lunch. CAI clients acted as servers, a host, kitchen staff, and bussers. Together, we served an awesome lunch, and had a great time working as a team!😀

Such a busy day today at CAI! Sending thanks to our new friends at the Waubonsee Community College Library! They gave us a fantastic presentation and tour, helping us understand the skills necessary to work at a library. We even ran into our friend Curtis from The Neighbor Project. Last, we started our food prep for our big restaurant project tomorrow at Bardwell Residences. What a wonderful day! We'll sleep well tonight!
