Did you know that UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital is the only LE&RN Comprehensive Network of Excellence to treat lymphatic disease (LD) in the state of Colorado? For World Lymphedema Day, Katie Egan, MD, addresses what that means for patients seeking lymphedema care. Watch the video and click here to read more about lymphedema and what this designation means for LD patients in Colorado: https://news.cuanschutz.edu/department-of-surgery/comprehensive-network-of-excellence-lymphedema-treatment

The campus and its affiliates were designated a COMPREHENSIVE NETWORK OF EXCELLENCE, which indicates that an institution and its affiliate institutions (within close geographical proximity) can provide and coordinate provision of the services. This includes meeting the minimum requirements of at least three (3) Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLTs) within the network, and demonstrating proficiency in the following areas: diagnosis, imaging, conservative management, assessment tools, interventional therapies, surgery (with a minimum of 3 surgeons performing lymphatic surgeries within the network), genetics, consultation, research, accountability, collegiality, administration and community involvement.

This LE&RN designation reflects our sustained excellence, dedication to high-quality, patient-centered care and ongoing contributions to the lymphedema patient community.
